You guys are way too over dramatic. Nobody steals lips. You just hit crap, and 9 out of 10 of you are using the old brittle clips that are half broken, so all it takes is a damn feral cat rubbing against it to scratch an itch and it will FALL off.

    Get new clips, and stfu.

Hell, I've always chained mine to the rest of the car. Put a 20lbs lock on it and had a dog guard it. But one day, when I least expected it... My IS lip was stolen as I pulled off a street-side parking lot! DAMN KURBS!!!

PS. Anyone from Alabama here? If so, and you have an IS lip on your car, have yours decaled "I was born with a big lip".
    EDIT: Maaaan that was corny...

I think there is maybe a 1% chance that somebody will steal it, and a 99% chance you won't be paying attention and you'll rip it off parking over a curb.

Well I guess it would depend on how crime ridden your area is. Personally I've never experienced theft, but it made me think twice whenever I parked my car in NYC, because anything not chained down = stolen. Fortunately for the time being I don't have to worry about theft, because I have an iS lip in storage but no E30.

I don't mind Toyota's "Saved by Zero" commercials. I don't watch much TV.

    Nope...

2 zip ties at the clip mounts on the sides (the forward ones nearest the "corner")

if ya smack it it just dangles a little.

I s'pose? never tested them, i just assumed a medium size ziptie would break. on the other hand if you have an IS lip i see no reasont not to just mount w/ clips

they have those little locks at home depot or someshit, you could buy like.... 4 of those and just hang the lip and chain it in 4 spots w/ locks! in case you have a steep driveway, or a lift where the lip needs to be off and call it a day! that way even if the lip would come off of the valance on freeway the chain would have some slack to drag it on the road. Or you could put one of those magnet/steal detectors, one on the valance and one on the lip, so if anybody tries to take the lip off, you'll know!

Or maybe one on each side so if the lip were to come off the small chains would hold it up off the road?
Pray don't patronize me Danny. I have a low post count but that doesn't decrease the validity of what I am saying.

Its easy to see you're new here.
