You beat me to it. I was totally going to post that!
That one made it 37 seconds at redline with no oil, so I'd say redline every once in a while during normal driving should be fine.
On a side note, I take my 8v Jetta to redline daily and it has 208,000 on the clock. I could care less about it though, it's me beater. lol Thing runs strong. German cars are made to last.Comment

whats your diff ratio? I'm barely moving in 1st & 2nd gear at 2000rpm. Although I typically shift at 3k with my wife in the car, and I can only really accelerate in 3rd or 4th gear because it hurts her back if I drop the hammer in 1st or 2nd. Stupid crappy sport seats..Comment

Sure - I have black duct tape on the upper bolster and center section (to slow further deterioration) and there are broken welds on both frames. the shocks have been dead for ages too. I guess at least all the mechanisims still work.
I just require a set of Recaro SRDs with E30 sliders in trade. ;)Comment

I don't make the M30s work very hard... The US spec B34 in the 535is probably doesn't even see north of 3000rpm on a regular day when I'm just driving to work... Not because I don't want to, it's just not necessary. With a 3.25LSD I'm barely turning over 1900rpm at 50mph in 5th gear. The cool thing though is when you do get on it and hear that big six wail. It's a nice treat!
The 6 on the other hand... The chipped B35 has seen it's new 6800rpm rev limited a few times already and it's frightening compared to the waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswafflescat US spec B34... I haven't even popped the new cam or headers on yet!'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5Comment
