But I will think on it...
The correct placement for an oil temperature sensor really is right in the oil pan, at the cooler/filter block you will get falsely elevated and intermittant lower oil temp readings.Comment

Is a really good idea...
Kind of complicated and definitely not cheap.

But I have extensive testing data from prior wind tunnel tests and I do know exactly where the boundary layer is and can predict from that information how it is and will be affected...
...baring any weird ass anomalies that is.
And no... Just to get this out of the way up front...
... I won't publish the data to back up the claim.
Eric's skid plate sits ~1/2" below the oil pan... I'd prefer the protection of his plate any day. The OEM debris guard is a joke.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

What kind of data would back that up for you?
A shot of the car on a scale?
Well I don't have one. It's just not a big enough deal for me to shoot something like that.
Tell you how it was done?
Like anyone would fucking listen....
This is what I do professionally... Not just one or 2 cars since I learned to drive (my bet on 90% of this forums demographic) but hundreds of BMW chassis over the past 25 some odd years...
Again... No simple safe way to do it... A drag I know but...Comment
