Great quali....Fisi on pole....who'da thunk it?!??! There were some gloomy clouds lingering overhead. Spas' weather changes quick. Some rain like in last years' race would make for some excitement. Like when Rosburg slapped on full wets at the right moment and gained 5 spots in one lap. That was epic stuff.

Results: 1st= Raikkonen(Ferrari), 2nd= Fisichella(Force India), 3rd= Vettel(RBR Renault) BMW went 4th + 5th(kubica-Heidefeld). Vettel nabbed 3rd from Kubica on a smart pit strategy in the last laps of the race. Button and Hamilton crashed out(i think). I missed the beginning of the race:(. Great race overall.

At least happy that BMW placed in teh top 5 and Fisichella finally made a podium.

Interesting how the crash involved two of the new drivers. Good to see Grosjean pick up where Piquet left off.... DNF Gotta love Spa, always interesting. BMW just became a little more appealing to potential buyers I would think.

That and KERS. He would have easily won with KERS in his car. He put in a great drive, and his pit did fantastic under pressure they never have had before.

Grosjean nearly punted someone in La Source, then fucked Button at the end of Kemmel.

                That fuckstick.

Absolutely agree....100%. The Force India car was perfect this weekend and Fisichella never put a wheel wrong the entire race. A win for him would've been the icing on the cake after Saturdays' qualifying, but given the struggles this team has had, 2nd on the podium is a great result.

Silly season officially starts in Monza in two weeks. Typically this is when new driver contract announcements are made and depending on how the final outcome plays out, the championship might be decided at that point. Although if underdogs & non-title contenders pull off an upset like they did today, said championship probably won't be determined just yet.

What a great race! Great job Kimi, very surprising to see Fisichella with that kind of pace! Sucks for Alonso with yet another mechanic problem....Seeing Ruben bring the car home and it catch on fire was epic.

I wonder if it actually was a mechamnic rpoblem or if he had damage - they showed him getting tagged on that wheel in the early moments . . .

                      Either way, sucks for him.

Sure sounds like everyone expects Fisi in red @ Monza.

I think it was damage from the incident earlier in the race, he was hit pretty good right on the wheel hub it looked. Although, he should have never been released from the pits without the mechanics checking it over if it was damage. Either way its safe to say the Renault pit crew is in need of some changes, as is Webers head mechanic. What was he thinking? Not the first time this year either.

now the next 3 dudes that need to win this year to make 2009 complete for me:

                            1. Heidfeld (for obvious BMW reasons)
                            2. Kimi (2nd doesnt count)
                            3. Sutil (Just because it would be cool to see him and force india on the podium.)

thats is all... cant wait for SPA, its one of my fav tracks!
Remember this? I wanted Kimi to win! finally! now its nicks turn.

Great race! I watched it all without falling asleep. LOL at Rubens last 3 laps. thats some desperate stuff.

I'm thinking it was that shunt at the beginning in the La Source clusterfuck....'Fred' took a pretty tough hit on that LF wheel. As the race progressed, you could spot a few camera shots on Alonso's car (before that dreadful pitstop) and see his left front wheel aero cover wasn't in the correct position. If it is determined that the early contact was the cause of the wheel problem, then the guy with the wheelgun for that corner of the car probably won't be waking up next to a horses head in the morning.

Welcome to the sport man! Glad you converted in time to see such an awesome race, this and last year's Spa were friggin amazing, and I think it goes to show you that track design is just as much to blame for the lack of overtaking as car design is.
