How bad is your MPG?

I'm curious what other people are getting for city MPG with their M20b25.

I don't even drive that aggressive, but is that not terrible? I know my valves need to be adjusted - will this actually make a significant difference?

I get about 20 to 25 combination city and hwy and I drive like I'm insane.

I, like the OP, am also getting about 15 city and 20 highway. and that is with a 318i! I can't figure out what is wrong for the life of me!

I replaced the air filter, changed distributor cap, O2 sensor, rotor, ignition wires, spark plugs, re-timed, oil changed, tire pressure ok , I can't figure out what the problem is! I drive pretty well also, I never accelerate when it isn't necessary.

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

whoops, forgot to add that, ya i replaced the O2 sensor also, NOTHING happened.

All I know is, is that I could be getting better. My odo gear broke, so there's no way to calculate it. And my OBC isn't accurate. But what I do know is, is that o2 sensor is SHOT.

Engine temp... Don't run a cold thermostat.

Lazy or dead O2 sensor.

Worn out injectors.

Fuel Pressure too high.

I really do drive like I'm insane... and the M42 powed car gets better than 32 hwy.

Throw it away... Get the OE unit.

The 325 I mention here is pretty hopped up and the OE 3 Bar is perfectly fine for it.

I calculated 16MPG city the other week, but I drive pretty aggressively. I'm sure I could do much better if I took it a bit easier.
