Yea, but you just proved my point "good wear" and "grip well could be better."

Who cares about wear on a "performance" tire. 8)[/quote]

Yup I know, They are sticky in a relative way my suspension need some tweaking. My rears are not doing what I want. Spring rates....

I've heard good things about the T1-S from Toyo. Heck, the entire field of the SpeedChannel Touring Car series ran on these very tires for a season or two. I wouldn't mind trying out a set for myself to draw my own conclusions.

When you're dealing with high performance tires you're going to make compromises somewhere. Typically treadwear and road noise are the two most common traits that get second priority in the quest for better grip. I've run a couple of sets of Sumitomo HTRZ IIs on 16" wheels and I was lucky to get 10K miles out of a set.....my driving style is rather aggressive at times. I drove on them daily but would also beat the snot out of them tearing up the back roads.

yes tread wear is accelerated on the T1-S's but it's worth. I have a set on the corrado and when they wear out i'll buy another.. great in the wet and a great autox tire.

I've ran FZ4s on 3 different cars (they are cheap ;)) and have had varing results. The VR rated i had on my old scirocco were the worse.. no wet traction and ok dry. The ZR set i had on the Corrado were good in the dry and only average in the wet. Then most recently the VR set i had on my GTi was decent all around.. thus my average rating.

I know have Yoko ES100's on the GTi and they are a pretty good performer in the dry as well as wet.. but they are a lot noisier on the road then the Toyos.

The other tire i'd put up next to the T1-S is the Bridgestone SO-3's. Have a set on the M3 and they are good in the wet and dry of course on the street, and held up pretty good when i ran them in semi wet conditions on the track.

Man! And it was awesome racing to watch! It was great when the race was a few laps left you could see the cars squriming everywhere!!!

I have had T1S's on the track at Buttonwillow and I will say they are the best non-4-comp I have had had on the track. Maybe not stickest, but most predictable which I think is the best trait to have.

I have no issues with my Yokohama ES100s. They have great grip and are very predictable in both dry and wet. Sure they are loud and may wear faster but who cares.

Now this is a good discussion no arguing amonst ourselves. See we can differ on opinions and not beat each other up. ;) A good day.

I got about 14k miles out of my T1-S's in stock size with alot of it almost all off it being Highspeed autobahn driving. What did everyone else get out of their's that have used them?

curious, how much did you t1-s'ers pay per tire? i saw edgeracing had em for 100 or so a tire in 225/45R16, which is significantly cheaper then the 170 or so i paid per S0-3...

$100 is a pretty good price, mine were around $180 for 205/40/17's (16's are slightly cheaper) it's all because Les Schwab has a monopoly on Toyo tires in the NW

T1-S I paid 115 Euro a piece when the Euro was worth less than the dollar so I paid about $90 a tire. and that includes mounting and balancing. 205-55-15.

I have Conti Sport Contact 2 tires and they kick ass. Not only do they grip better, they are much quieter than the Yoko Avs es 100's I had on their before. Porsche tuner RUF likes the Conti's so much they are standard on all RUF cars.

you must have a "matched set", as ol' harry hogg would say. i have the conti's right now. can't compare them. they're good, but not great.
