    I know this,
but we will see, he mentioned different motors that he had around the shop but I dont know,
a 4.1 would make it quicker, but would the high revs wear on the motor more?

well i suppose if you want to get all technical yes. a motor only has so many revolutions in it but the difference between a 373 and a 410 isnt really a big deal. an m20 can run all day long at high rpm if its healthy. youre talking 3-400 rpm difference at speed

you really can't tell until you look at it. LSD was optional on almost all non-is cars

Off topic........ OP are you in North Carolina?

Back on topic. Blunt's first post was right, too much mis-information in those first 5 posts.

Hmm.. my car was at 3400 at 70mph. I know I had a 3.73 in there. Maybe my tach was off a bit? I am only stating from personal experience, but I guess that's not good enough.

                          anyway, to answer synsyx's question:
I just removed a 4.10LSD out of my auto 325i. Like the guys above said, LSD was an option on all models.

Every m20 car I've come across had either LSD or came with LSD and had burnt clutches. Guess it was a coincidence?

What is still incorrect? I'd like to know so I can know better next time and so I can fix my mistake.

Guess so, because there were plenty of M20 cars with open diffs.
