    You'll need to do a bit of wiring work so that the engine harness will properly communicate with the body harness. Not 100% familiar with the late model plugs, but usually that's the case.

    Not much work really. What's going to happen to the M42? Is it in bad shape? I've wanted one of those to punch out to 2.0 litres for a while..

      what all wiring do I need to get from the m20 cars?

          it's pink, but a good cut and polish will really bring that back. you could always use the condition of the paint to drop the price down, and then pay a good detailer to polish it back up.

            I'm doing a straight trade, my gti for that car
            he is letting me drop a M20 and tranny in it that he has in his shop (and letting me use his shop+tools)
            plus I can use any part of any car that he has out back

            all this for my GTI, this guy is now totally awsome

            but ya if I was buying it I would use that, but I plan on getting it painted

              try buffing it first - that red is a single stage paint and it takes really well to a cut and polish.

                I might, but because of the fender and hood damage I am going to rip some parts off of the e30's in the back, and they will be black
