Update: the database conversion test has appeared to work. Just working on the Apache configs and we should be able to launch the beta site for testing by late next week.

Thank you for keeping this site running, James! As I dig into new E30 projects seeking all the info, lessons learned and tricks I can find, r3v is always the best source. Hell, I've learned things from posts the started back in 2005! Try finding anything useful more than a week old on FB!

Update 6/9/2020. Database test migration is slowly churning along, its at 60.5%. Once we determine the data goes in we will work on solutions to improve migration performance, but right now this will certainly be a several week outage during the transition. Next update will be with a beta site.

Coupleof the other forums I visit use invision. Seems to work well. Looking forward to it.

I haven't really experienced any issues with the current site. Sounds like that's just a testament to the admin.

Sounds good James. Thanks for all your hard work!

I echo the others, I would gladly pay a yearly membership/donation/fee if it helps keep the site going!

Ok, I was just wondering for internal threads that have links to other threads. Or other/external websites that link to threads/posts on R3V. Hopefully the testing goes well! I'll gladly pay a membership fee as the others have suggested.

We can explore a paid membership or donation dealio, however, let's get everything migrated over first.

Update on where we are at. Few bumps in the road on the migration of the test database, however, we have corrected those issues and attempting a new test migration. Currently at 17% and plugging away.

It's looking like when we move we will have a several week outage due to the sheer amount of data we have. Our plan is to make the forum read-only during this time so data is available versus being offline.

    More to come.
