    M20 Beauty Cover

Back in 2020 while we were all chilling at home. I decided to make a beauty cover for the intake and vacuum lines. This is still a rough prototype but over all I believe it turn out ok.
I got the idea initially from watching a video on a S2000. The guy lost/broke the beauty cover for the fuel rail. He just made his own and that gave me the idea for my beauty plate.

The painted photo later on your Fickr page looks much better than the raw version there.

Still - with the Motronic, we’re not needing to cover a mountain of wiring sensors etc. like the later engines. Observe my EGR replacement job on the weekend:

Nude N47... looks an abomination! The new EGR is circled - was an easy enough job once the vanity cover and air intake were removed, although getting to it around all the fiddly sensors, wiring and vacuum lines is annoying - that said once the job is done, the diagnostics are good on the e9x in that you know you’ve solved the problem because the computer tells you so.

The vanity cover is the fig leaf that hides a multitude of sins

Yeah that painted version is how it sits right now. I'm considering making more beauty covers for different areas of the engine bay. This isn't a show car by any means, but I would still like for the old girl to be clean looking.
