Barry - Congratulations!! Glad the coin toss came up cabrio & an M-Tec to boot. Is that the one out of Highland? I think its a 5 speed conversion - no longer an auto?

    Nice score!!

      but... nice car :)

I would guess the autotragic pic is from when he checked it out the first time? since then it sounds like it's been boosted and 5 speeded

nice car. did you just buy it off ebay? the guy had a SUPER reasonable price from what i heard. something like 7.5k. u mind asking how much u got it for?

And the top you'll have the fold in the first section between where it connects above to windshield/a pillar and the first support bar. As well as getting a crisp fold in the middle of the back glass. then should snap right down. Nice ride! too bad its a conversion.

Yes, this is the same car out of Highland. I've been toying with the idea of buying it for months. I was surprised to see it back on ebay for a 2nd time. Anyway, I got it for his reserve price. I felt it was reasonable given the work done on the car and what the original owner wanted for it. Besides, how often do these come up for sale?

The car was originally automatic (I know, that's why I didn't buy it from the original owner back in 07) but the PO did a 5 speed conversion, turbo, fresh engine. A lot of work was done yet it was hardly driven. Unless he rolled the odometer back, they only put like 2000 miles on it in 2 years. Despite having mods and being Macao instead of Red or Silver (which was my preference), you can't be too picky when it comes to cars like this, that rarely come up for sale.

yeah word, these cars dont come up for sale often (the 91's) and are making for high money. unfortunately, the swap and turbo set up probably added nothing to the value of the car, and probably hurt the value. in original form they go for HIGH money for a non-M e30. Im sure you'll be a great owner! and congrats again! enjoy a sweet vert!

That fold, that rest on the rear seat. Instead of trying to push it down, push it through. So the fold now sits on the other side. Opposite from the seat. Works for me..;)

Is it stock Macau because I've never seen an E30 in the US with that color? I know E30 M3s didn't make it to the US in that color, how about regular E30s? Either way, great find.

Ya know...I hope it is that easy. I didn't want to force anything but I'll give it a try tomorrow! Thanks. Another question, what keeps the compartment cover closed? Mine doesn't seem to have any latches just guide rails.

Yes, it's stock Macau which only came on full M technic convertibles. According to www.e30ic.com there's only 18 Macau Blau, 29 Brilliantrot, 49 Sterlingsilber in the US with "M Technic Luxusausstattung" option (M Technic Luxury Equipment). This is one of the 5 Automatic Macau's (converted to manual now) with heated seats. It's a pretty cool color that's starting to grow on me. Kinda like how it looks blue and purple with the right light. It's very rare here in the US. I've actually been studying them for a while but could never find full M technics, only appearance package cars.

My plans? Just have fun with it. I will probably throw some smoked Hellas on there, euro grills perhaps, smoked signals/tails? Maybe later I'll stroke it out to 2.8, lower compression and raise the boost. They aren't kidding when they say 'Boost is addicting.'
