Great work! Love seeing cars get cleaned up, used, and enjoyed.

sorry you r3v'd your car. (or someone did it for you)

Glad to see you're re-shelling. Keep in mind some of the remaining sheet metal is worth something if it's rust free...

Glad you are re-shelling, look forward to the build thread!
figured I would close the loop on this post before continuing on with my other thread...

First, thank you all for your kind words. It was a very low speed crash despite the damage to the car. I was in shock for a few minutes, but ultimately had no injuries.

The crash was fully on me. The car stepped out on me as I was getting on an on-ramp. I tried to grab it, but I instead panicked and nailed the brakes. I had not tested the ABS on this car yet, and in that moment found out it did not work at all. I locked them up with the oversized brakes and spun, going front right into a highway concrete barrier.

This all happened after meeting McGyver, and we were leaving a cars and coffee together. He was very kind and stayed with me while I gathered myself. He also got some sweet pics of us driving before and and the rough pics after. Here ya go...

And with that... this thread is officially closed. I'm still sad thinking about the crash, and regret not having enough time with this car. However, I am plenty busy with other things in my life, and now an entire Re-shell when I have extra time lol. See my other project thread for the comeback...

It really was a fun day up to this point. I don't even think you got on it hard, so it was shocking to see you go into the wall. I'm super glad you decided to re-shell the car! I'm sure the next one will be with you for a long time and be a ton of fun to work on and improve!

Goodness... I am so sorry to hear about the mishap and, what sucks the most is that there's no one else to blame, making it somewhat harder to digest. The most important thing is that you are okay - cars come and go, and seems like the guts on this one will live to carry on at another time. Still sucks royally, but I am sure you will bounce back better! Good luck and will follow the other thread going forward
