Standard springs + 14" wheels = smooth ride for ya bevy. Love these shitboxes.

I laughed pretty hard at that one. Glad to see all the kinks are working their way out.

Been cruising this little car for a while. Since the last post I had a new roof fitted, did new tyres, and poly control arm bushes.
I could feel the back end was a bit floaty, the brakes were rubbish due to the original lines sweating fluid, and a clunk on/off throttle. Which means only one thing: my least favourite job on a E30. Subframe and driveshaft out.

      Suitably clapped out bushings

Daylight through a CSB is never ideal

New flex disc, CSB, and clamp nut.
Curiously enough, it seems that the shaft was actually a spline out. But it's been that way from factory so I left it.

I dislike burning bushes so came up with a contraption to press them out. Worked a treat, with a quick application of a torch to heat the rubber slightly.

Bushes are from an Aussie mob called Superpro. I've fit them to every vehicle I've owned and they are great.

I got sick of all the dirt underneath so got this from the auto store I work at. Another aussie company. Some type of citric acid cleaner

Which with a quick spray on and hose off made the dirt literally melt off. Unreal. It's now got 107,000km (60,000 miles?) on it so it cleaned up good.

And as a final little job, another company make repro under dash panels which was sorely needed

Best of all, no more headlight aiming garbage.

I also fit the Garagistic braided brake lines in hot rod red. Brakes feel so much better now.

So that brings us to here. I've got a box with timing belt, water pump, and thermostat that I need to fit. Once that's done it'll be up for sale and on to the next mistake.
It's been a phenomenal car to drive around in. Hot summer nights with the roof down are a treat. My mates made fun of me for having a vert, but we cruised 4 deep around town and now they make less fun of me. I'm a changed man. I do now have some grey hairs coming through so the old man car has definitely had an effect.
Also thanks varg for teaching me how to embed pics again after the update I would kiss you on the lips if you asked
