Thank you so much guys. I got checked out at the ER last night, and so if my back stays the way it is i have it documented. (when i look up i feel like someone is pushing a knife between my shoulder blades) I'm so sorry to hear about all of your shared bad luck in the past. it sucks that so often the cars that people hate never seem to die and drive around forever... and then the cars you spend every last dime on, get into fights with friends, family and girlfriends over, bleed and become obsessed with ... can be gone so quickly

going to get the police report in a few minutes (via a ride from my mom... *sigh*) and then i'm going to call the kid's insurance company and demand money, sex, and a rental car

i'll take some shots of the car today and try and get some of the professor. (also, Emily said that we need to try and figure some stuff out... so i want to see where that goes)

my current hopes: get at least 3k for the car, buy it back and use the springs, rear end ect in my eta and then either get another e30 to put the m30 in... or maybe put the m30 in the eta and buy an e34

i will probably have a good deal of stuff to sell from the car... but not yet. probably not for a while. ---i friggin hugged the car screaming "i'm sorry" after the accident... i'm pretty emotionally attached.

*EDIT* I bet you could get more than 3k! That car was exceptionally clean! Explain about the countless hours you spent working on it and see if you can find a bunch of other m30 swapped cars going for more. BTW how does the oil pan look on your m20 mine is leaking from the drain plug :(

I've been looking a bit for m30 swapped for sale adds to try and get a good price to ask the insuance company for, but haven't found a lot.

if anyone knows of any links to e30's with m30's that are/were for sale... can you post them? i have a few, but more wouldn't hurt.

I'd love to show you the road man. It's pretty close to URI and its amazing. Yesterday was the definition of what I think bmw driving is all about. sunroof open, no radio, no place to be, no traffic... epic. -also, my oil pan is in really good shape. its a bit scratched on the bottom, but it didn't leak to my knowledge and has no cracks.

Me and my girl of a year and a half broke up a week and a half ago, thank god i still have my e30. I was fine in like a day or two and already grabbing numbers lolz! It sucks at first but as soon as that girl at the coffee shop running the counter eye fucks the shit out of you, you'll be ok.

I'm hoping things work out with my ex... litterally she would hang out for 4 hours while we worked on cars... and have no issue.


on a side note... anyone have any advice for me? lets say i get 3 grands from insurance, and i scrounge together another 2... i'm at 5 grand for a car. Do I (a) restore my 86 eta from parts from the 87 is and transfer the m30 into it and make a beast of a 4 door, or (b) do i restore the eta but leave the standard motor in, and buy another e30 to put the motor in with money to spend on it... and leave the eta stock, but running... or do i buy an e34 and do the stuff to the eta? -it's possible that the only part i would need for the swap is a new distributer and radiator... (i'll know more about the condition of the motor this weekend)

Sorry for the loss of your car. Minivans suck and 17yr old drivers usually suck even worse! As far as the girl friend is concerned I have found in life that things usually happen for a reason. I know it hurts now but maybe in the long run you will find out that she did you a favor. I have always found thea karma can be a bitch. It is just too bad the you probably won't get to be there when it slaps her up the backside of her head. I hope you get to felling better both physically and spiritually.
