I'm kind of leaning towards building my eta... a 4 door m30 would be awesome.... fun and still 4 door practical.
i love e28's, but i kind of want to get a more modern car... e30's are what made me fall in love with bmw and the reason why i'm double majoring in german and mechanical engineering.. and the root reason for why i'm going there for a year...and so i'll have one for as long as i can, but i dont have such a strong attachment to e28's, so i kind of want to get an e34 for comfort, size, ect.
- although, i had though about buying an old rabbit and dropping in a newer mk4 tdi motor and trying to get 70 mpg (its been done...) but i think that's a dream for once i've graduated.
Was in the same boat in march, driving down to the bar with my girl and kid in an older explorer didn't yield take a left turn right into me at the intersection totaling my e30. My body guy said the deepest impact put my e30 10-12 inches in... She's gone now :*(
Can anyone say a dollar figure that they would say my car could have sold for? ball-parks are fine... I've only got a few links to show the adjuster tomorrow, and i want to have as many tricks up my sleeves as possible.
specs: (all milage values giving as a time reference are approximations, but they're close)
1987 325is with 237xxx miles on the chasis
less than 10k with new paint, and total rust restore - there was none at all on the car aside from surface rust on the rockers at the drains
updated suspension to bilstine sports and IE stage 3 springs
HAWK pads with less than 5k miles on them
new battery
uncracked dash, newish alpine radio, premium speakers added
new (and perfect) rear seat with headrests and ski pass
sportmaxx wheels ~10k with toyo proxie 4 tires - at least 75% tread still on them
leather sport seats (the side bolsters are beat though)
5 speed m30b35 motor swap with 80k on the motor, perfect compression all across the board This swap was done the middle of this may (2009) and had less than 2000 miles on it
e28 radiator (brand new, 2 year warranty... 2 weeks old)
IE exhaust
i think that about does it. if anyone has any prices they think it would have been able to sell for, or links to cars with similar upgrades... PLEASE post them.

Air Force. Was supposed to go in for F111 Avionics but they switched on me and stuck me with HVAC. Gave my job to a guy with a wife and kid. guess thats what i get for not gettin a chick pregnant. lol Going to be doing a bachelors in physics and shooting for officer and pilot within 5-6 years.
No effing clue where im going to get stationed. they assign you that after you make it thru tech school. I've got 2 months in San Antonio for basic, and then six months for tech school, also in Texas. Then a week back home to pack my shit (or spend a week doing fuel install/setup and MS3 tune :nice:) and get out to my assignment.
