Yesterday I finally got around to installing my new springs and struts/shocks. H&R Sports and Bilstein Sports. The car looks much, much better now and the handling is like night and day.
For future reference, NEVER let Les Schwab touch your car. I have receipts from when the previous owner had the struts/shocks done back in 2006. Highlights of their 'superior' maintenance practices include leaving the rear left swaybar link disconnected and not torquing the right steering link nut. Oh, and locktite on EVERYTHING, and three of four struts/shocks (store brand) were blown.
I'm not sure if the improved handling is due to fixing these wrongs, or due to the upgraded components, but it is great.
Pictures forthcoming...

I was over at my Dad's helping him put a new radiator in his e30 ('89 325is). While there mine got new spark-plugs and a -027 ECU. Not sure if it was the plugs, the Motronic, or the placebo effect, but the Henna car seemed to run better and have more power on the drive home.
Here's a pic after the day wrapped up (Dad's Zinno is in back):
crappy picture due to slightly crappy weather/sunlight...
Oh, and according to Kevin Chinn, upholstery should be about two weeks out, yay!

The pictures really help out the appearence. There are some chips in the paint that are noticable in person and I need to have the PDR guy work her over. Once I get the interior all sorted I'm gonna see about having the body massaged. I might even have her sent for a fresh coat of Henna while I'm gone next year... only then would I call her mint, even if she is the apple of my eye at this point.

Well yesterday I let my impatience get to me and I started to pull apart the interior and get the ball rolling on the plan. I pulled the rear seat, the parcel shelf all the door cards. then came removal of lots of interior accessories and lots of masking tape.
I dyed the headliner charcoal grey as a stop-gap until my glass needs to be pulled and a proper new headliner thrown in its place.
After letting that dry over night, I applied some touch up to parts that needed it. Over all it didn't turn out too bad, but I am definatly gonna go the proper route down the road.
Once satisfied with the headliner I threw in my black parcel shelf and door cards and reassembled the rest of the interior sans the rear seat. Here are some shots of todays stopping point...
I'm gonna leave the rear seat out till my upholstery comes in, no sense in putting it back in, only to take it back out in a few weeks. I never use the thing anyway.
Now to take a shower and wipe off all that damn green dust that the under-the-seat blanket was impregnated in...
