I love that car, and have checked out your post about it many times. Too bad it was taken from the world of the living in such an un-timely manner.

          I have black carpet!

I devoted the whole day to making my carpet black. I pulled the seats, the lower dash panels, center console, door weather stripping and sills. I then pulled the rear vertical carpet strip and the kick-panels. These were dyed out of the car while the main carpet was done in the car (after copious amounts of masking). Two coats of duplicolor black fabric/vinyl paint were sprayed over every inch of carpet.
Once dry, I threw the smaller carpet panels back in and put in new door sills and weather stripping as the former were cracked and the later were dry-rotted.
Before putting the console back in I replaced my cigarette lighter socket, and once in, the shifter got its new boot and the M-Tech shift knob.
I threw in my spare rear seat, in houndstooth, to keep dust and noise down, as I'm still using this as my DD.
Oh, and I ordered a set of OEM black mats from Tischer to make sure the carpet remains minty fresh...

Look's great! How much have you spend, as for the interior goes?

I really don't know exactly but...
$1k for Alpina Seat Upholstery (still not in hand)
              $150 Nice black door cards
$90 OEM Carpet Mats (en route from Tischer BMW)
$35 Duplicolor Dye/Paint for headliner (Charcoal Grey) and carpet (Black)
$20 NOS Shift knob from e28 M5 (ePay aquisition)
              $20 Leather shift boot
$? Many Pull-a-Part runs for various pieces (better front ashtray, black parcel shelf, etc)
$0 lots of parts from my stash of switches, hog-rings, interior bits, and such

...so probably in the neighborhood of $13-1400 (?)

It may sound like a lot, but I spend most of my time driving inside my car (unlike some of you crazier types) so I get real anal about the appearence, cleanliness, and condition of my interior.

Schucks/O'Riley carries most of the duplicolor line.
It took two cans to do the Headliner and four cans to do the carpet to my satisfatcion.
FYI, it is much easier to to the headliner if you remove your door-weather stripping.

Picked this up from Court M3 this morning:

It ain't perfect but it is in better overall shape than my US Valence on the car. And you can't beat the price, free. With a little elbow-grease and paint (and filler) it'll be perfect. I just hope it dries out sometime soon so I can get crackin' on it...

                    Thanks Court!

I also scored a set of Euro Bumpers from Vlad and I got an OEM Aero (Pfeba) front lip from Mitch M.
                    ...it is all comming together!

OEM floor mats from Tischer for $90 is a good deal--how much for shipping though?

I'm debating on whether or not to do my headliner and rear shelf in black also, but my interior is Natural leather and I don't know if that would look good with black. I'd leave the carpet tan though. Got a photo of the dyed headliner by chance?

I like everything you've doing here and nice score on the free valance.

Mats from Tischer include free shipping. You really can't beat that, can you? I'll get a pic of the headliner soon, I'm away from the house today though.

As promised, here's a pic of the headliner (taken when seat and cards were out):

And these were waiting for me when I got home from work today:

These came from Tischer much faster than anticipated, Tischer is A-OK in my book...

Thanks! Did you make it through the Garage sale with all you limbs still attached? The teaming masses made for an interesting experience... but I did get some good stuff.

Oh, and I can't resist; here are some pics of whats currently en route:
