The US valence is used to hold the front fenders together, without it, the fenders would flop all over the place and wouldn't be aligned (I could be wrong on this though). The plan for wheels is Genuine 16" period-correct Alpinas. A while off, but it's the plan.

I agree with everyone that it would look nice lowered, but isn't this car an OEM restoration project? wouldn't that defeat the purpose? regardless, you've done an excellent job thus far. I like how meticulous you are in your build. ;) let's see some of that interior!! :)
