    '91 318is, non-sunroof.

Just picked up a Sterling Silver 1991 318is. Tan interior, non-sunroof. Car isn't a 10, but was close enough that I can get it there. PO had hit his curb, cracking the oil pan, so that is first on the list. Then I will be replacing the regular tan seats with some spare tan sport seats we have lying around. Then, will replace airbag wheel with M-tech 1 that is also lying around. After that, I plan on revamping the stereo.

Car is already dropped, but not sure with what just yet. Rides a LOT softer then the cup kit on my older 318i, so I might be switching those over until I can afford the setup I want. Car has already had the front suspension gone through, though. M3 offset bushings, new a-arms... So that is nice.

    On to pics....

Dash has cracks, but we have a crack free dash in the track car. Have to see if I can convince my buddy to let me swap it out. :D You can see the spare fogs that the PO gave me, in the seat and on the floor in this pic.

The unfortunate thing about the car is that someone thought they knew how to wetsand. But forgot the water. Or something. Every panel, except the drivers side fender, door, and rear quarter, have sanding marks. Enough that it will require a repaint. But, for the price I picked this up for, I have no issues dropping the money for that. Rust is VERY minimal. And that should be address during painting, as well.

Here is the roof as an example of what they did. Sad.

I'd love a slick top. Looks like a nice platform to start with.

Thanks guys. I truely wouldn't mind a sunroof, but understand the value of the slick top.

Oh, and as for price...... lets just say it was one of "those too good to be true", deals. ;)

                      Just a little progress:

Just got done replacing the lower oil pan. 4 of the 6 bolts from the upper pan were loose in the upper pan. Also was missing a upper pan bolt on the intake side, toward the front. Tightened everything down, and put new lower pan on. Seems good so far. Might still have a very small leak. Will look into that more tomorrow. Engine is filthy. That will be on the to do list this winter, for sure.

Grabbed some black door, and rear panels for the car. Have the "tan" sport seats in it for the time being. I might be going all black sooner then I thought. Have the black sport seats, and black perfed vinyl in the beater that I can swap over. All that would be left is the tan carpet. Might wait, though. Will be driving the beater this winter, so...

To be honest id much rather have the sunroof. Unless it was a race car of course.
