What caused the dyno to eat up your clutch like that? Glad to hear about those numbers, amazing!!! I would love to replicate this build!

basically it just couldnt take it. too much torque and it started slipping really bad under about 10 psi. Im running 16psi right now and the clutch is just aweful. it smells like shit, slipping... it was a waste to try and continue tuning.

Im not too upset because it was a stock clutch and flywheel but I thought it would hold to somewhere around 300 hp.

Plans are to get a better clutch and fly more suitable for the job and try again.

the car is great otherwise. it sounds unbelievable under boost.

Ill try and get an in car vid up in the next couple days for everyone. Not going to be crazy but it should entertain.

For the record, was the clutch recently installed or did it have a bunch of miles on it? This really blows for you but for those of us considering going turbo it's good information!

the clutch was almost new when i installed it. It had plenty of life left, but yes for those of you interested in this an m20 flywheel with a better clutch would have changed my outcome from a mere 250 hp to upwards of 300whp.

Very nice, love the setup. We utilized a 240mm clutch that held up to 350whp, I can't remember if it was a stock M5 setup or aftermarket, but its pretty stock feeling.

any and all advice concerning MS tuning and data logging would be appreciated. Until i get back to the dyno i am completely on my own

Car runs great when clutch doesnt slip at WOT
crusing at half throttle and lower car runs like complete shit
idle is okay but could be smoother
AF ratios under load are close to Stoich but lean otherwise and sparatic.
boost is controlled by apexi avcr now wired into MS
I thought i knew some things about turbo cars. in reality I know nothing. for everyone trying to do what I do give up its hopeless lol

Get those AFR sorted out first. From what I have read tuning for crusin is not easy, lots of dyno time ahead of you. Along with MS website I would recommend reading this

It is actually very discriptive book, anyways he covers a section on tuning and how to tune for race and street should help you out alot. How did you find the MS install and did you have any problems with the sensor on the harmonic balancer?

no issues with any sensors or the wire in. everything is working smoothly just need a better more refined tune.

i need to start data logging but my laptop pc needs a harddrive before i can hook up. Once i get that sorted with a new clutch we should be back in the saddle.

im taking my car to school... elevation difference of 3000 feet. its going to make a differece and i have no idea how to adjust my MS

That is good to hear I have heard of problems before. Sounds as though the install is pretty straight forward then.
