Nice write up. Car looks sweet. I just ordered my gc kit. I have a set of bilstien sports with h&r races on the car currently. but I am going to put konis on with the gc coilover kit hopefully to make it a stiffer ride and more low. I went with 450 front 750 rear rates.
My Multi car part out. Need a part? Pm me...

looks good, but of I was to do this, I would have to shorten the strut tubes and get shorter inserts. I heard somewhere in passing that iX front inserts are shorter by a few inches. Then again, I am on 15s, and they need alot of low.

How much did you cut off of the strut tubes before welding on the included GC perch or d-ring that comes with the kit? I am about to do this and I want to know how much I should cut off so I have a good range of adjust-ability with my kit. And im kinda confused on the removal of the bumpstops. Please inform at your will. Thanks.

I would leave the rear as is or even lower it a bit. The low rear arches are one of the things that makes e30s what they are, embrace it :) I personally think it looks wrong to have huge amounts of rake, there's a happy middle ground in there somewhere.

                Looks awesome though

I have no idea about iX inserts, but I wouldn't dare cut the strut tubes with off-the-shelf bilstien sports. Thy can't handle it.

I guess what I meant to say is, how low did you weld the included GC perch?
