E30 Baur - Restauration in Progress

    Hi there.
I previously have introduced, some photos of my baur together with my touring.

In here, i will show the progress of my Restoration of my Baur.

The engine was opened, because he was leaking oil.

He had the surround of the valve cover, and the surround of the head gasket, burned.
(Don´t know the specific word for the surround piece that seals the gasket... can i call it seal?).
He was leaking oil from there, and more.

Here are some pictures of the engine thorn apart.

Just to remember, my car is this:

He will take, every tube that is dry, new, all kind of new oils (engine, gear, brakes...), Head cleaning, K&N box air filter, Tarox G88 brakes, Powerflex bushes, timing belt and tensors, and water pump swaped for now thats all.

New photos will be available, as soons as the projects gets going...

    Thank you

Power washer in need there prior to taking the head off. Damn it would have made the job so much cleaner.

other than that old Baur's are cool.

What differentiates a "Baur" from any other E30? I don't know what it is?

OK... it looks like it has an m-tech II kit on it... are all Baur's convertable... are they all the same special color... is there a list or something?

Baurs have that crazy top. That's the difference.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

Baur's are a Targa and a semi convertiable rolled together. The factory outsource their intial droptops to Baur for the E30 then brought it back inhouse in 87.

Bkelesey has one if I remember correctly. Look at his car it has more pics or google E30 Baur's.

Here is one that sold on Ebay last year, that had like 30K original miles on it for $7500. IF my settlement had been in by that time, I would have owned it. Unbelievable car.
