Sounds nice. But why do you need heated seats in SoCal?

Is that something common to do, sand off the old clear and reclear the car? That seems like it would fix my "light scratches" problem on my quarter panels.

That's what they say, I 'll let you know if it was worth it or not. Silver paint has the poorest clear coat on it from the start, so anything is an improvement for me

Just to be vain, I guess... we really dont need it! We dont need half the things that come on the cars for us here. How about the SUV mom with the
4x4? Guess she gonna need that 4x4 with the 24''s to make it cross town....hehe :pimp:

Do you have the same problem as me? It looks like someone lightly sanded the clear coat with some rough sand paper.

Yeah, the clear coat on silver will eventually start to show micro cracks that turns into frosting, then it peels off. You really got to keep it moist, but unless you got that thing in the garage everyday, waxed every month, and avoid hot sun since new....its almost impossible... I want to drive and enjoy the little bastard. You can try a color sand first at a body shop to see how deep the scratches go. Then go to the next step if its gone thru. :pimp:

my paint isn't factory, but my clearcoat is awesome. it has scratches, dings and chips of course, but from 5 feet away you can't tell. it polishes up really nice too (most of my car is like a mirror). I think the factory sterling silver cars did get a shitty clearcoat though, there are a few spots where the original paint is still on my car and it looks like ass (front and rear valances, windshield wiper panel). looks like your car will be sweet when it's done, can't wait to see pics!
