I like the look of satin black when it is done right. Most of that is going to flake off over winter but at least everytime someone rubs against your car they are going the get a nice reminder to not touch it.

Not true, you can still wash it just fine

I'd reccomend a wet sand job though, it would really smooth it out, only cost a few bucks

....Besides, who here puts money into their car and actually expects to get a return on it? Once your car reaches the $5000 barrier you are almost out of luck.

Some people here actually like to keep the appearence of their cars good. And most of them here enjoy putting money into their cars to make them different, better, i mean, Yes i have been one to say "why dump so much money in an old car?" But even I would NEVER be as cheap as to go to home depot or walmart, get some spray paint, and put that on my car.

And for those who say they like it? Are your monitors like way out of adjustment?

i think most people that say they like it are looking at it and then filling in the rough spots, he says hes gonna get it professionally sprayed satin and this is just a guage to see how it is so you have to think that way.

Sand it, go over it with a couple more coats and wetsand, then satin clearcoat and wetsand.

I'll look amazing when you're finished, and maybe take a week if you work on it two hours a day.

If you can get it even and satiny like that Dub - that'd be ok. Otherwise, its not something I'd drive daily. But . . . for weekend duty, I'd slap some Ronal Bears on it and auto-x or track it that way.

it can be done but it's not worth the effort. it's hard enough doing a good rattlecan job on something small like a spoiler, I wouldn't even try it on a whole car.

                              Good idea, badly executed.

                              Do it again.

WET SAND... in a nice circular pattern going evenly across each panel, do one panel at a time and it will come out much better.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.
