ANother point for having a roll cage is so you can properly attach your harnesses..

If you get in a good crash right now your spine may collapse. By attachin your harnesses to the floor they actualy pull down on your shoulders upon impact. Thus putting alot of strain on your spine/neck.. Just a heads up for ya. The idea is to attach the harnesses as parralel to your shoulders(if not up) as you can.

Same argument applies for not running shell type seats without rollover protection. The seat backs on stock seats will collapsr, but if you are in shells and the roof comes down - guess what - you get whacked!

The roof. If you are in stock seats with no rollover protection, the seatbacks are made to collapse and keep you from getting squished. If you are in shells - the backs don't collapse.

That doesn't really make sense to me, you are saying that the seat backs collapse and stop the roof from hitting you? Wouldn't a seat that doesn't collapse offer more protection?

If the roof comes down on you in a collapsable seat, the force on you, and thus the seat, will cause the seat to collpase, giving you room.

If your seat does not collapse - you absorb the force, not the seat. Then they scrape your remains out instead of the shell.

Back on topic - Bobby, the car is hot, as always.

Dave has a point, but i'd rather be held in rigid seats with stock belts in a rollover than stock seats and harnesses. Seats may not move, but the body in stock belts can....

I'd agree with you, Rob. Still best to have stock seats and belts with no rollover protection.
