Beautiful example of an M3!
I was always a fan of your turbo e30, but I like change up. :nice:
Please get a carbon airbox from Marcus in Germany, go Alpha-N and give that motor the true powerband and sound it deserves!Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

Thanks again for all of the congratulations. It was an awesome day, and it was great weather to drive the M3 to and from the wedding venue. A chance for Mike Kippen (www.mkippen.com), to get a couple awesome rolling shots.
This was by far one of the best summers of my life. The story of the M3 purchase is pretty cool too. I was at work in my office (I rarely spend time in my office), but had about 5 mins of slack time before I had to go to a job, so I cruised craigslist and s14.net for my monthly update on what was for sale. I saw on craigslist that this red 2.5l m3 was for sale, it was posted 40mins earlier, so I emailed the guy and asked if 2.5l was a typo. He replied and said to call him. I ended up calling him and meeting with him 2 hours later. It was a very nice example, and the price was right. I texted a picture to my then fiance, and said I was going to sell the silver e30. She said "I know the only car you'd replace it with would be an e30 M3, so this must be a good one." So I thought about it for a couple more hours, and called the guy back and put a deposit on it, to be paid in full in cash the next morning at 10am. Drove it away with no regrets, and a few days later picked up the folder the guy had at his office with all of the receipts for engine upgrade and such. Then it really sunk in how much time was put into the engine. Probably the most sporadic expensive purchase of my life, but I still have no regrets, especially seeing a VERY similar example in a Portland dealership for $26k (I paid $9k less than that!)
This is definitely a car I am going to keep for a while, and drive it on nice days. I have a work van that I commute with, and my wife's jetta that we use for errands.
Andy, It definitely does pull nice, VERY different from what I'm used to with the inline 6s. It definitely takes higher RPM. I like it, but it's different.
mrcheezle19, henna was #2 pick (lachssilber #1, but can never find them under $23k in decent shape). I almost bought a henna m3 in San Francisco 2 years ago, which could have been an amazing road trip home at the end of a crazy work trip, but I'm glad I did not.
fronton, I definitely did some hanging out in Moscow, there was a pool bar there called Mingles I used to play at a bit, as well as Monday Night Football at CdA Brew Pub in Moscow.
Joe, I did drive it up to Leavenworth for the drive, but I came from Pullman that day, so I was coming from the East. I actually got a few shots of your car from the balcony we were on, here's one of them. I also made it to M-Car day at Griots, but was hangin with Chris Cramer most of the day, didn't get a chance to talk to everybody.
Christian, I will definitely miss the turbo car, it was pretty amazing in its prime. I owned that car for almost 11 years.
Diego, good to see you're still around. We definitely are on similar paths. I'll get some interior shots and engine shots up soon, I've been crazy busy this summer with work and the wedding and such... As for the shots of my wife, she's in two of the pictures in the first post ;)
shiftbmw, I guess I'm not familiar with issues with the Turner chip. I am used to standalone ems, and know what to look for in terms of drivablity, detonation, and such. I haven't experienced any problems running 91octane up here in Washington, in which we have mild ambient temps which helps a lot. I get about 22mpg combined, and 29mpg on the freeway, which I thought was awesome. Let me know what you thing, I definitely like the stock feel of the engine, as well as not having to keep a wideband hooked up, tuning...
e30polak, I considered that when I bought the car, the previous owner had the carbon box, alpha-n, and all the hardware that goes with, but wanted $5k for it, and after I just bought the car, and having to pay for the wedding the next month, I decided to hold off lol. I would like to do it some day, but probably stay away from alpha-n, I've never liked the drivability characteristics of it, and with a proper vacuum plenum, you can run speed-density very well. I would probably go with MS3 (since I've been using MS since the beta 2.2 boards).
MikeDE, Like I said above, I loved that car, and it was tough letting it go, but then I looked to the other side of the garage and noticed there was a 2.5l e30 M3, it made the parting a lot easier having the new car next to it. It was a great car for almost 11 years, and I learned so much from owning that car. Also, the silver car was never going to have M3 fenders... The fenders do it for me. The M3 also handles way better, pretty amazing the difference (a lot of that feel can be attributed to the steering rack).
Barry, the Lachs did it for me, if I could have found one in M3 form, I would have bought it if the price was right. And yes, the turbo was the shit before it blew up haha.
Cheers,

i think that was my old m3. 7615 last 4 of the vin. if so, you have a very nice solid car there.
if you need any history on it, feel free to contact. i had alpha-n, 48mm throttles, 2piece headers, 3" exhaust, big brakes and a bolt in roll bar. no one wanted it with the goodies, so i put it back to stock.
cheers, jason
EDIT: I am 99.99% positive that was my car. I bought from Jim who built it next to gustav's car.

Jason, it definitely was your old car, vins match. I'm a little jealous of the carbon box, big brakes... Things I would like to do some day, but not in the near future. Honestly I like the stock-ish appeal of the way the car looks right now, but that may fade with time. Overall I'm extremely happy with how the car was kept up with over the years, and I'm glad you didn't drive it in the winters in WI haha.
Cheers,
