i sent them $3-4k in receipts. they said they would take those receipts into account, then determined the car had the same value the next day i'm still working on finding the other receipts. but, i have no proof that i bought my engine, trans, flywheel clutch, and some other big ticket items such as labor to shave and paint the engine bay.

they are taking stance that if i didn't pay for a part with a credit card, i can't claim the part as being on my car. these motherfuckers...

Did they send an appraiser over to see the car? anybody who investigates what M3's go for will easily see that they are collectible with a quick google search. Make sure they know what an M3 is first of all, just in case they think it's a 318/325 with a body kit. I've had an appraiser go on roadfly forums asking what Startecs went for because he couldn't believe they were $300-400. It's time to educate these guys.

they sent someone over to look at the car. they knew about some detailed items. but they are overstating everything as far as the value is concerned. such as taking off $695 because there is oil residue mixed with dirt on the bottom of the engine and transmission... serious??? its the desert, dirt is everywhere. who the fuck do they think they are. its never leaked any fluids!

Exactly NADA states 20.1K in my zip code for a 91 and 16.5K for an 88 in my area. There is only one 88 for sale within 50 miles of me on NADA site and that is listed for 29.9K.

Insurances companies are tired of paying out the last couple of years so they are very resistant to paying out.

Its hard to see from pics but it looks like the door took the brunt of the damage and possibly saved the chassis.
