taking a stab at this because i'm not familiar with carbs, but..

the late model stock pump may run too much pressure for a carb. investigate using the low pressure transfer pump from early model e30's.

also the fuel pump relay wire for e30's is c101 pin 13. it's a green/violet wire. double check the ETM's for your particular model/year here

Have to run an adj fpr. The holly regs are crap. Also do you have the return line hooked up? I run a mallory 4309 with a holly blue pump and the return line hooked up. You want 6-7 psi for a holly based carb.

I have that wire running to the positive from the battery on a switch. But it's always on then. I was looking for it to only be on with the ign switch. It's an 87 so I'm not sure if it has a secondary pump? Ha

Yes I have the return line hooked up and the adj FPR. Do you have the pump on a switch or relay?

Pump is all the stock wiring. Seems to be sufficant enough. Id say its less about your pump and more you fpr just not being able to go that low. Theres a dif between high pressure and low pressure fpr. Buddy is running the same mallory fpr as me with a walbro 255 on his sbc swapped 240 with a 750double with zero issues. Prob just gotta get a low pressure fpr. Mine is listed at $99 on summit right now and has 4 ports plus a return and you can run it with boost via the vacume port.

Could it just be your gauge is bad?

I'm interested in how the exhaust comes along. I just bought a set of BBK shorties off ebay for real cheap. Also have Stuart's long tube cobra headers I might experiment with. Trying to help Stuart engineer an exhaust for his car. We all know he wants one. ;)
