Lots of updates for the 318!

So I had another thread, but it was getting cluttered...and I never showed how it was when I got it. Its changed a lot in the year and couple of months I've had it.

I'll go a little more in depth with it too.

Here it is when I got it, 91 318is.

It was a bit rough, the rocker panels were all faded and missing paint, the front bumper was chipped all over and looked awful. Missing the OE flat lip, among some other minor details.

Painting the bumper and grills, the grills were horribly faded.

This was it when I last posted pics of it:

The front lip was cracked on a curb, so I temporarily wrapped it with that checkered duct tape. A few weeks later, I nailed a tire chunk and split the lip in half. I ordered an M-Tech 2 front valence almost 2 months ago and I never got it. The seller stopped responding and it still hasn't come in. I opened up a case with ebay to try to get a refund.

Till the refund comes, I re-wrapped the lip with black Gorilla tape. Once I get the refund I'll start looking at other options or just get another iS lip.

Here it is as it sits.

The wheels I got from a friend in trade for my stockers. They only came with one center cap. I used the one to make a template and bought some plastic sheeting, cut them to shape and size and wrapped them in CF vinyl.

Interior shots, mostly stock. CF wrapped HVAC panel and door handle bezels. Dash has a couple of cracks and the driver side bolster is a bit torn up. Other then that, its immaculate.

Also, just bought an M-Tech steering wheel, I'll post a shot when it comes in.

    Current mods are:
    - IS front lip
    - 2 piece eyelids
    - Black and white CF Roundels
    - Hella Ellipsoids with 5k HIDs
    - OE style aftermarket fog lights
    - Clear signal lenses
    - Rota Aleica's 15x8, 15x9
    - Falken Ziex 912's: 205/50, 225/50
    - Kamotors rivet on fender flares
    - M-Tech I steering wheel
    - Cone filter and silicone boot
    - 16in E-fan, 190* probe in radiator fins
    - Condor Speed Shop PS delete
    - Condor Speed Shop solid trans mounts
    - Custom catback: 2.5in piping, removed cat, Magnaflow Glasspack (being used as a resonator) and Vibrant RS muffler in flat black
    - Votgland springs
    - Bilstein sport shocks/struts
    - Light smoked tail lights

Next up, Turner MS chip and UUC sway bars.

That's it for now! Compliments and criticism both welcomed.

dont wanna be the first to say it but it needs coilovers so fender gap can be eliminated.

        looks cholo status.

I don't think it looks too high, but the Sakura knockoffs are throwing me off. They look like they belong on an AE86

                Haha, hi Henry!

                Thanks for the compliments guys!

Coilovers come when I have the money for them. But I actually like my height, not sure what you mean about cholo status, I'm just not into the dumpt/ hella flush thing. I autocross and do occasional track days, so its the perfect height for me.

Unevolved, is the car in your sig what you had here? It doesn't look familiar.

Nah, I got it right after I graduated. I spent all my time at working on FSAE cars.

coming along nicely. inside looks just like mine, even the radio is the same!
may I ask what exactly you did with your hood, and do you like the outcome. yea needs a little more low, bout 2 inches in front, but Id get a skid plate if youre still on the m42. it saved me on stock height once, and saves me all the time now that i no longer have fender gap.

The front could use a half inch to an inch, but that's my limit. Its my DD and I hate being all the way on the ground.

I got the Rota's for trade for my stocks...if I had it my way, I'd have those XXR 531 CCW knock offs! Or if I were a real baller, some real CCW Classics or, as much as they are used, some BBS RS in gold with a polished lip.

Unevolved, did you ever go out to the TAMSCC autox's? I was out there on occasion, not always in my car though.

i<3BMW, thank you! Makes me feel like I've done right by my car! Haha, I'm still learning the way of the E30, it being my 1st Euro.

htown318, I just used some Rustoleum brand semi gloss black. 2 coats with no primer, the OE paint was faded and had no clear left. I just cleaned it really good then painted it. I like how it came out, it could use another coat to really shine, but the rest of the car needs a paint job so I'm not too worried about it. Eventually the whole car will be matte gunmetal.

Henry, its every where...its just the scene these days. Everyone wants moar low! lol.
