His car, his choice. Life would be pretty boring if we all had the same opinions. Me personally, I think the e type Jag is one of the ugliest cars ever made yet others claim it to be beautiful. My 2c

I think the flares look good! Not everyone is going to agree of course, but that's life... no big deal :)

        joolz, Oats...thanks, I appreciate that.

I understand not everyone is going to agree...there are a lot of purists on here, but there's no reason to be an ass about it. Can't please everyone, nor can you avoid internet douchebaggery.

A good driver on sticky 205s and stock suspension will run circles around you without needing fuh raze flares. So really, then, what's the advantage of everything you've done to your car, besides growing your list of mods?
I honestly could care less about what my car is "worth" to anyone else. Its mine, I plan on keeping it and I do it for me. Big deal? Did I once "brag" about getting 225's? No, I simply stated I'm getting them to help fill the gaps without sacrificing the handling of the car. Yes, its only on springs and struts but not all of us can throw tons of money at our cars on a daily basis...so coilovers will have to wait. I don't mod my car to please the general public...but continue with your bashing, I like the way it looks...if you don't, there are plenty of other threads on here you can go browse through instead of coming in here and talking down to a complete stranger. I understand not everyone will like it, but coming in here and attacking my taste is just unnecessary. Thanks for proving yourself to be another typical trash talking e-thug.

Love the car Ryan as usual, honestly this thing just needs to go all rat rod style. I'll finally be starting my thread today.

to say a not a single mod has been "worth it", is an overstatement. to say that the quarters have been molested is an understatement. i have 235/45/17 slammed on coilovers and no rubbing with some minor massaging to the inner lip and a very thin 8mm spacer. i think you jumped the gun on the flares, however, you did a very nice job crisping up that engine bay and interior, more form mods over function mods, theres a line, racecars dont need painted valve covers, and show cars dont need the quarters sliced out of em ;) lol not hating because im a strong believer of to each his own, just my .02 :D

Damn, now that's a lip on those Sakuras! lol

Thanks Henry..not quite going the rat look, once I get it looking how I picture...you'll see what I'm going for.

Boostesi, thank you...that's criticism done proper. I just moved back home from Texas and I'm getting back in the flow of things, so once I get a bit saved up, I'll be going for the rest of the suspension. I know the flares weren't necessary, but not only is it a bit easier to clear the wheel and tire set up I want but I've always liked the way flares look.

I'm not building a show car, far from it...but that doesn't mean I can't clean up the looks a bit. The engine bay was cheap and easy to do...so why not? This car is my daily, I autocross and when I can, I'm getting back into doing track days at the near by road course but I'd still like it to look good for what it is.

^also those are 235/45/17x9 +35, no spacers no rolling and no flares ;) so you better get some huge wheels or big spacers for the back there ;)

Lol, I have a soft spot for bronzit's...not sure why. I've hated similar colors on other cars...but after seeing some nicely put together ones on here it changed my opinion...haha.

                      Good looking car though!

I plan on getting new wheels over the summer if I can. Still doing some research as far as widths and offsets. I know I want to go 16's though. I'll be looking for a set of lightweight 15's 1st for track use. Leave the 16's for daily use.

Okay, I guess attaching "worth" to any sort of mod was a bad choice of words. Maybe "appropriateness" would have been better, since the mods I see seem more suited to an initially rough looking e30 whereas you started with what looked like a pretty clean late model, which a lot of people here desire; I don't think I'm alone in this view... Anyway, I think you're being a bit overly defensive in your assumptions about me and how I judge e30s, implying I'm a douchebag and a typical trash-talking e-thug, and that I'm "attacking" you... Whatever.

I try to focus my criticism on the car, and how much each change contributes to it's appeal, and in this case there was a drastic downturn with the addition of the flares. I was getting no impression that there was much thought going into it - all I'm getting is "It's mine and I do what I want because it makes me happy" lecture, which doesn't validate anything to me or help me see what the direction you're taking with the car is. Regarding the flares, if it was clear that the intention was to fit super wide tires (245+) then I wouldn't have said anything because that's typically why flares are needed, right? In my mind it all needs to make sense, and I just wasn't getting it from your car, and I'm not going to apologize if you're offended by that...

Well that's all cool and all...but your opinion in regards to what I do with my car do not matter to me. I don't need to justify anything I do to my own car to anyone else. That would defeat the purpose of modding my car the way I see fit.

So with that being said, I'm politely asking you to leave my thread since my car is just that atrocious to you. You're right, there will be people that agree with you, but did you notice how the guy with the bronzit coupe who posted above you stated it? That's how criticism should be given. Have a nice day.
