Garagistic E30 project car (m60, ls1 or m30 swap)

We will have a booth at the e30 motorwerks show this weekend, so the car needed a bit of catching up to do to look decent. So we found a set of matching weaves (for now), installed the coilovers, and reinforced some bits. Shooting to get those plastic bumpers/euro trim installed before the show this sat.

Then usings our rear sway bar reinforcement kit:



Front subframe was done as well using our subframe kit and front sway bar kit.










Installed our garagistic rear tie downs:



Thats it for now. Still got lots of prep work to do before our engine swap goes in.

I just read about the Toyota 2AR engine on MotoIQ. They are quite stout motors right out of the box. I know the purists wouldn't approve but too bad :p

Testing an adjustable control arm on this car. If all goes well we hope to offer this as a service for those who want an e30 adjustable rear control arm setup (this is one of a few versions we will offer, others will have a camber adjustment etc). Got a few things powder coated as well.

Yes the slotted mounts have some limitations on adjustments once installed on the car. We are excited to give these controls arms a shot. We will be also doing an adjustable front control arm as well.

How do these avoid having to slot the TA brackets? Pretty neat otherwise, there's a guy on e30tech running spherical bearings in the stock ends of his TAs.

Small update. Installed adjustable end links (m3 style). Welded the mounting point bracket (which we offer here).




Sway bars to be installed this week. While we are at it going to throw those stainless lines on the car. Car will be testing at a track night event Aug 4th at the streets of willow. Come out and watch/race. More pictures to come.

Haha they've been poaching from the Ireland Engineering project file (circa 1995). And I know exactly from whom. The E30 M3 weld-on tabs have the hole suspiciously position in the same exact spot as the IE piece as well. Nothing wrong with that I guess, go for it. The more of us that can get paid for what we love, the better.

Note the "slotted" adjustable ends.


EDIT: That particular setup had the heim-joints angled a-symetrically for use on a circle track car. this means your not going to get much negative camber on the left side (hope you guys figured that out before welding).

I like the adjustability and potential for locking features with this setup, but I hate the life of spherical bearings.

We will be tracking the car on the 3rd at the streets of willow night event. Just need some light adjustments before getting out there. Some track pads (pfc 06), and get around to getting those stainless lines on there. Should be a blast to track and get some base numbers before any swap takes place.
