Wheels have arrived. Once again thanks to Paul Ehrlich (ewheelworks) for doing an amazing job refinishing these RS212's. We decided to build the rears to RS197 specs.

        Final specs are:

        Front
        17x8.5 et13
        Rear
        17x9.5 et13

        Before

        After

In the meantime, making some progress on the turbofan project with Asim. We plan to bring these to market and have them available for both large and small BBS RSs.

Here's a teaser of the labels we had custom made for this set.

Going to run some meaty Direzza ZII's on the RSs because I like the look, and also 245/35 is virtually impossible to find in the US.

          Your car looks great!
I still haven't found one...as far as I know they are NLA unfortunately. I don't mind much since I frequently remove that tray to put the battery on a tender.

Big box of maintenance items. Oil filter, air filter, trans and diff fluid, engine oil, new belts, alternator bushings...

Evo 3 spoiler, euro tow hook covers and Evo brake ducts are back from paint. It was nice to see this 308 GTS in the garage at the painter's house. He did a great job and the match is really, really good.

New vs old filler neck shield

            Installed

Old center console was drilled to mount this dealer installed Blaupunkt remote. There's a cd changer in the trunk, also dealer installed. I don't plan on using it. Plus I don't like the cassette holder.

            Replacement console

            Installed

Old vs new. These always crack.

            New reservoirs installed.

When the wheels showed up, I got excited about test fitting the waffles. I only had these billet hex nuts. The threads are slightly dented on these RS centers, so the billet nuts were such a tight fit that I got one totally stuck in the wheel center.

I nearly broke the hex tool removing it...this was the solution. Wood clamps, and two people holding the wheel down.

            Here's the damage.

Paul set me up by overnighting a set of polished original hex nuts and they threaded in perfectly. Here's the difference:

Tires mounted, ready to install and adjust heights.

Random question, where does the overflow hose on the coolant tank route to? Does it run into the hole on the vertical support on the strut tower?

I'm in the process of replacing all the missing items on mine...

How come the BBS logos sit higher than the top of the center nut? Are they adhesive logos attached over original clip-in center emblems?

Let me get back to you on that. I can't remember off the top of my head.

Just resting on the hex nuts for the pic. Those pics were sent over by Paul before he shipped them out, and showing them with some of his personal red caps. I ended up buying my own red caps and popped them in on a different set of polished original bbs hex nuts.

There's no accident history, so from what we know about the car that fender was damaged in shipping or at the dealer before its initial sale. The car came with some dealer option M color stripes that were still on the car and evenly faded all around when the PO had the entire car repainted. So yes it's a DOT-R fender but from what can tell, it's not due to accident damage of any kind. Car is straight as an arrow underneath.
Same exact situation with my convertible - DOT-R pass fender and no accident history.

Thanks, funny to hear you experienced the same thing. At first the OCD part of me cared about the sticker, but everything else is so spot-on that I really just don't care.

Thanks. We have an idea on pricing but not ready to commit. They'll be around half the price of vintage fans...that's our goal anyway.

                              -

245/35 would have been a perfect height match to the 215/40 I'm running up front, but they're discontinued in the US. I decided to go with some very oversized 235/40 Dunlops.

I'm actually really glad I decided to go with the meaty tire look. It'll never be a DTM car but I can at least try to reference one.

This is a lot of tire.

Was getting nervous at this point :o

                              Much better.

                              Done.

RSs may be played out, but there's a very good reason for that.
