Put in a full day yesterday on my engine. Did the crank seals and oil pan gasket also new water pump gasket and sealed the rocker shaft plastic doohickeys . So now I should be free of any oil leaks. Today im istalling new sachs clutch and putting the engine back in. Yesterday I finished the front suspension too. It got new control arms and tie rods and new bellows . I painted front and rear subframes and added condor solid bushings

It seems I was to pumped to finish my write up, the Condor bushings and new front end brought the car to life ! Here is a few more photos . I've been working in a fab shop so custom strut braces and who knows hwhat else will be coming this winter . Perhaps a cage what does r3v think? Would a cage ruin my car ? Any who :

Engine going back in was trickier than getting it out for whatever reason
Cleaned up the front end and replaced control arms tie rods strut mounts , added drop hats and rack bellows.

Got some down time at work so I made a front strut bar.
I uses 1/8" plate and .o95 tubing
Found a perfect hole saw to cut out the radius
Then bent up my pipe and here she is: loosely based on sparco
And primed and painted

Suffered a hit last night on the way back from 5 guys. Her insurance is going to pay and everybody was ok. Looks like this panel is only 180 bucks.I've seen a few people cut it out and replace it I'm a little weary to do that. But at the same time this is a good opportunity to go and learn to do some body work. Who has replaced thissigpicComment

the panel shouldnt be terrible to replace. but more then likely youll need to get the trunk floor pulled. Id leave that to a frame shop .1985 325e M50TU(Sold)

I up in vernon. I work in a fab shop that builds chassis and bodies for dirt track cars so I have some.guys that are good with sheet metal and I'm a welder. I need to empty my trunk out and look at the floor but I don't think it's going to be too bad. The car slid right over my bumper so the damage is hopefully right above the floor
Also, any body shop suggestions in the north jersey area?sigpicComment

Thanks I appreciate it. I would definitely like to come check out the shop and the body shop once I get a check from insurance I'll have a better idea of what I wanna do with it since there's zero e30 budget at this time.. it will probably become a winter long projectsigpicComment

So I've been waiting to hear from her insurance but the body shop totalled it. They quoted 2500 and change. I'm obviously going to keep it so I'll be interested in checking out gutenparts for trim , a tail light and maybe some other goodies while I'm there.sigpicComment
