you should be able to pull an m30 from the yard for $250.....well at least that's the going rate around here.

    edit: $265......just checked pricing lists.

But it'll need a rebuild, which I can do, that's not a big deal, but idk how much that'd cost. Granted it's a plus my dad is sponsored by Bimmerworld so I get all parts 15% off.

s5x swaps generally cost more to do "right" than to do an m30 swap "right". You do not have to do a full rebuild on the m30. Find one with mileage in the mid 100k inspect bottom end, replace all gaskets and timing stuff, find the rest of parts, and swap in.

          I'd rather have m30 over s5x

How rare are B35s? I also have no idea what to look for with M30s. I obviously know what they look like, but don't know how to tell a B34 and B35 apart for example

Lola will see some track time too (even though that's what Christine is for), probably not drift, but some autox and definitely HPDE

You should really read into the motor/drivetrain swap section, all the questions you have will be answered.

A minor update on the car, I got rid of the stupid Ram wheel cover and got a plain self-wrap wheel cover because mine is completely roached. I also went digging to find any rust, and for being 30 years old the only rust it has is the little patch in the pictures below all of which are in the battery tray area, thats it. I couldn't believe it.

My plans for this weekend are to do the last of the maintenance stuff (coolant flush and timing belt, but still have to order it), run up to the pick n pull for some miscellaneous pieces that are either broken or missing on Scarlett, and to put in a order with Pelican Parts and Bimmerworld for some parts (shifter kit, new guibo, timing belt, and a couple other odds and ends.)

A picture of her I took today, cracked the sunroof and popped out my windows to try and get some ventilation, cuz it's getting pretty warm down here and she sits in the sun all day so when I get in to work on her she's like an oven

A shot of my backseat, the interior's in pretty good shape

I have a question for y'all. I was doing some interior work and there was a button that I didn't know what it did, hit it, nothing. So I googled/R3Vsearched it, and couldn't find anything, do you guys know what it is?

The black button with the red around it next to the defroster

And also this thing, it's just to the left of the hazards

I'm not sure what they do so I don't know what to look for, and I don't know if they may be broken

Go ahead and pop the buttons off and see where they go.
The one in the first photo is a circuit breaker for your windows/lights.

left to the hazard button is your OEM stereo balance control.
i believe yours' is disconnected since you have an aftermarket head unit now.

Ah thank you. Yea I thought it was a stereo balance but didn't hear anything, so I was stumped. Does the circuit breaker ever actually come in handy or is it just kinda pointless. Also, what are those wheels in your sig? are they iX wheels?
