Also I LOVE the seats. Wish I had seen that model recaro before I bought my corbeau gts2s - I think new they are nearly the same price.

Nice houndstooth and suspension too - funny how similar our mods are.

    Subbed for more!

EDIT: that was ridiculous that someone told you to take your DIY down for the cupholders. I'm glad you posted that back up. Good work.

    I couldn't agree more!
I love the bronzit with the black and bronze sl1's. Looks super nice! I actually bought the wheels off of a friend and he purchased the staggered setup about a year ago. The seats are great! Actually, the webbing that holds the lower cushion on the driver side just gave out so i have to fix that. Temporarily threw a thick folded towel under the seat. (Old seat problems) haha. At times I wish they were less aggressive and that I had went with something like the corbeaus in your car for the comfort aspect. Don't get me wrong, they're awesome seats. But it's a struggle to get out of the car sometimes. The houndstooth was a necessary addition! I'm not an absolute fan of leather especially in the summer so I lucked out on getting almost the complete houndstooth interior for $200. Hell, the CL add is still up and I still have his number so I could always go pick up the front seats as well and make it complete. I'll roll with the recaro a for now though, I'm tall and they are the perfect height for me.

I'm over the whole cupholder thing. It's in the past, but I totally agree!

Thanks for the sub! I'm excited to see your progress as well. Who knows, maybe an s52 will visit this car in the next few years once I finish up with school!

I thought I was already subscribed to this thread. But apparently I wasn't. I am caught up now.

Toodaloo it sounds like you and Sh3rpak!ng should just trade seats.

Thanks man! I've been kind of annoyed with the white and want to change the color. My first car was black and honestly despite the black car problems I sort of want to go back. It looks so much nicer and what I want to go with IMO. A wrap might be the next big step. Possibly Marrakech brown, red, or some sort of black!

Thanks!! Like I said I'll update this thread more once I get back home in a few weeks from my trip to Russia. Im planning on doing some engine tune ups, shifter rebuild, and I'm planning on shaving and respraying the front valance along with a new front lip and maybe paint that as well!

My plans may be a little delayed however since a family friend has an NA Miata with a hard top sitting in their driveway with my name on it for super cheap. Needs a few things done, but it would be a sweet daily so I could keep this thing pretty in the garage. Oh that reminds me, I made some room for her in the garage! :)

Funny thing about the Miata, it's also white -__-
Looks like I'll have to live with it, or wrap that instead with a simple inexpensive vinyl to test my skills before (if) I wrap the e30.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind words!

I haven't made any recent updates since before I got home from Europe visiting family.
Last week I installed an is boot lid spoiler (I'll post pics of the process soon)
I've also installed a new urethane front lip with new clips as well.
No reason to try and convince me to get an oem lip. It'll get beat up anyway... Haha. This urethane one seems to just bend and have no limit as to when it will crack. So hopefully it'll last me a few years vs. the first that only lasted a few months. The clips will certainly help as well.
I noticed a few weeks ago there was a drop of gear oil under the back of my transmission so I did some more digging to find that the output shaft seal is leaking (yay).

Today I've been tackling the trans output shaft seal, but while I'm at it I'm also replacing the shifter input seal, (shifter linkage input?) switching it to the newer version, shifter arm bushings, and installing a dssr from Ireland engineering. I'll update with photos soon!
Didn't want to buy a short shifter quite yet, but in due time, I just might. I sort of dig the long throw in older cars.

                  Hover craft mode: unlocked!

how much was the lip and from where? Im too cheap for the OEM lip and kind of want a change from the VW lip Ive had for the last year. If its cheap enough, I might get something that looks more OEM

The lip is from an eBay vendor actually. Came out to about $62 shipped to my door. I wasn't 100% happy with the quality since it does have some seams and imperfections from the mold. They can all be fixed simply with some 320 grit or a sharp razor blade but other than that I would recommend it as a great option! For half the price I can have a lip that is still very malleable and forgiving for a low car. Looks the same as the real thing to me and does its job. The title to the listing was "1984-1992 BMW E30 SEDAN 318 323 325 328 M Type DTM Front Bumper Lip - PU"

Hey! I bookmarked your page months ago when I came across your cupholder mod. What a great idea, having them sit so low in the console! I have an idea who wanted you to remove your write up and he just seemed like a needle dick bastard, even before I read about this. Someone tell him we live in a capitalist society and his product is overpriced! And if BMW wanted to prevent all DIYs like he wants with his product, there wouldn't be a r3v forum and there would be zero people buying his product. Shows a complete lack of ethics and respect. I definitely won't be buying his pos now!

Anyway also wanted to say I love the white and it's nice seeing someone else from the bay area. I grew up in San Jose and a couple of my friends went to Cal Maritime

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheels

Thanks man! In all honesty, I don't hate the guy. He can do his thing, I'll do mine. His has the advantage of fiberglass in the body, but there really is absolutely no point for it. My car has had those cup holders for about 8-9 months now and survived many 100+ California heat wave days and it's holding up perfectly well (his main argument was that they wouldn't last 2 months) Who you gonna trust, an engineering student, or someone with a businessman approach)... Come out to the next Cars and coffee! It would be cool to get together and chit-chat!
