Amazing! Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind revealing, where are you going to college? I dream of owning a beautiful e30 such as yours; I cant find it in myself to sell my Subaru though. Good luck with the build and the degree!

What's up guys, long time no post!
I haven't been able to do much on the car while in school, and nothing new has been added other than a digital voltometer I made and an oil change.
I'm curious, what would you guys value my car at? I don't intend to sell it, but there are so many temptations to get my hands dirty on another project. This is a purely hypothetical question, unless someone offers something I can't pass up. I've had car buddies tell me to sell it for no less than $10k, however I know with the e30 community and market, they aren't very considerate to the e30 tax and don't seem to value the individuals time and effort, which is of course debatable. I've seen crappy cars go for $5-6k in California, and with the condition mine is in, and all the parts I've replaced, upgraded, restored, and fixed it would be worth a bit more... Plus, it's a pre-airbag 89' coupe which is like bonus points, right!? ;)
What would you guys say? No rust, 220k-ish miles? ODO stopped two years ago at 191k... Everything you've seen on my build thread, plus a few things I've neglected to mention such as: All the front suspension bushings being replaced, IE sway bars and reinforcements, SS brake lines, Z3 rack (W/e36 tie rods), T-belt done 2 years ago, new starter, Condor motor mounts, etc.
Pretty sure I mentioned it in a previous post, but I'm attending Cal Maritime! So far I'm enjoying my experience, but I'm not sure if the major or school are the right fit for me. It's a pretty long story, but to state it shortly; I've always been pushed to pursue a certain field and I'm finding that it may not be the right fit for me. I'll have to talk to some professionals in the industry and get a little more experience before making any decisions, so we'll see how it all pans out.
Will post in the next few weeks after I finish flocking it and the center console.

I'm at the hardware store right now trying to look for that rubber grommet. Where did you find this? When I purchased the car it didn't have an antenna. Simply a hole covered in "goop" according to the previous owner. I removed the goop with my nail and cleaned up the area with some rubbing compound and followed up with polish and wax. I tried a few forms of plugs with little luck with size and fitment and decide to go another route. I headed to my local ace hardware and found a rubber grommet that fit snugly in the hole, then placed a plug inside the grommet to seal the hole. The ens result looks pretty nice and is sealed from any water getting in!

Hey whats up man, this is Kevin I met you a couple weeks back at that M Fest meet, I came in my white early coupe. Funny I've seen this thread a couple times before, but didn't realize until now it's your car. After seeing page 1 again with the Recaro pic I was able to put 2 and 2 together lol.

I've actually switched the grommet to a plug. I believe it's a 7/8 "button plug" I purchased at Ace hardware. It works much better, looks sleeker, and doesn't erode like the one pictured did.
I'm currently a student at Cal Maritime. I say currently because, well. I feel I made the wrong decision which school to attend. Long story short, I'm pretty young, and like most college kids am not really sure what I want to do with my life. I have many different interests and feel Mechanical Engineering may not be my best suit, so I'd like to gain some experience with other majors I'm interested in. Only problem is, my school only has 6 majors, and they're all somehow tied to the maritime/ shipping industry. I know for a fact I never want to work on a ship, so having everyone around me be the opposite makes it a little difficult to keep my head straight. With only 6 majors, it really leaves me no opportunity to experience other classes or fields. The 86% male 14% female rate doesn't help either ;)
What's up Kevin! it was nice meeting you! Hello! White late model coupe from the bay
Thanks!
Sorry for the lack of updates guys, so here are a few things you should expect to see me cover in the next month or so.
- My process of shaving and painting the front valance, fog deletes, brake ducts, and front lip.
- Maybe going a little bit lower in the front
- AC pump started making squealing sounds so it looks like I'll have to either fix that, or delete it... I'll probably fix it...
- Roof rack accompanied by a light bar? maybeeeee...
- Reupholstered sports seats If I can find the time to get around to it.
- New wheels?
- Addressing a coolant leak somewhere. My expansion tank ran low so I had to add a bit to fill it back up.Last edited by Toodaloo; 12-10-2015, 12:10 AM.
