you guys are all douche bags. its an "is". it has the is rear spoiler, the is basketweaves, the is front airdam, the is check panel, and the mtech1 steering wheel. its an 87 which is the year they started the "is" if he said it was an 86 then id worry cause they didnt make em.. they made "es". simple solution, buy another tach with the 7k redline and call it a day. i seriously doubt anyone would go through all the trouble of putting "is" pieces on an eta. if he posts pics and its an eta then i retract my statement of calling you guys douche bags in advance... but i really doubt it will be.

The VIN of the Chassis matches up to the fact the car in itself is an "IS"
however.. the question is if the engine under the hood is an "is" engine, and why if they replaced the instrument cluster, they would not use the correct tach.
PS e30devo... i'm still wondering... how did u catch the steering wheel? in all my pics there is not 1 good shot of it, just a hint of it in the shot with the tach.

Now here is what I was saying sport..... It has an eta cluster! and LOW miles clocked. What does that tell me? Two things, either someone (not the PO mind you) got lazy and found a low mile cluster for a high mile car. OR the IS motor broke, which low and behold happens to those 87s a little over 200k. So what I asked if you would read was for pics of the motor. Big tell tale sign between the eta and the i would be the support from intake to valve cover. Another thing, did you know weaves and an lsd were added options that MANY buyers did in america????? Well of course you did, we're the douche bags. Get your head out of your ass, he had a concerne and we are trying to help him with it in easy ways. If I hopped in my car when I bought it and the tach was 2k off, I would be a little weirded out as well. Oh and wtf do you mean the IS check panel????? You mean the same one that is in my mechanic's eta?
PS in your infinite wisdom you forgot the biggest telltale sign that it is an I car....... wait for it........ The mirrors are white. But thanks for the lesson in distinguishing models.Last edited by delatlanta1281; 06-02-2006, 02:21 AM.Yours truly,

Hey good luck with the car, feel free to ask me any question during your resto process. Devo, you may wanna watch the douche bag comments till you fully understand what people are saying and whether or not they know what they are talking about. Just some advice. Have fun taking that moto apart Roy! You may wanna think about gauge rings and if you will want them in the future, it's usually a good idea to take the cluster out as little as possible.

Rich

i'm REALLY stoked... i can't wait to start this process, as i said to e30devo my plans are gonna be :
1. Shocks/Springs Sway/Strut Bars -> all go in at the same time
2. Restoration (kind of an on going whenever thing)
3. Euro SMily's with HID conversion -> to see dark canyons
4. Body Kit/Rims (may do rims earlier.. just whenever i find a good deal)
5. massive paint/body job to returnt o pristine condition
6. buy a garage space, and a civic... bottle of wine, stare at my bimmer, drive the civic to school.
and i'm plannin being complete in like.. a year.. minus the restoration which will probably be continuing.
