and while you are in the process of that and have 3 good wheels... you could have been back out if you just ordered another OZ, BBS RK, SSR, etc.

some people will do whatever they want or think is cool, but most experienced people will have gone through that or heard from others, and choose wheels based on more aspects than weight alone.

ummmm, no. rim sections take like a few hours to repair.

ordering wheels usually takes a few days at best.

if you have the spare parts and can do it yourself

i could order most any in-stock wheel today from tirerack and it could be here tommorrow, south bend is so close.

but it's clear why wheels like Koseis WERE, or Team Dynamics are popular with tracking people... cheap, easily replaced, strong, light. RS's are potentially repairable, harder to find, not cheap, and light.

and not every damaged wheel is repairable, might have to be replaced

too bad everyone with RS's won't look any different than everyone else running the knock-off Remembers, the new fad wheel
Go away. No, seriously, keep running off your mouth, and be perma-banned again, then everyone will REALLY be talking about you, just like you want.

I can't wait to have my RS' style wheels on 205's.

            EDIT:

And yes, with the style you're going with, you gotta be slammed. I did a quick Photoshop for you...start saving for a ub4rstif Ground Control setup!

why else would e36ers run koseis... or Mtriple have RS street wheels and Kosei track wheels. and Team Dynamics, etc etc.

there's not too much "cheap waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles" about it. It's irrational and nonsensical to run hard to replace and expensive wheels at the track... (unless of course they are like custom built extra super duper wide wheels, but that would only made for racing, not DEs)
Look at what the Japs do: on their Time Attack cars (a class of racing you seem to aspire to one day emulate) they run super lightweight, expensive rims (TE37s/CE28Ns/CP035-Rs/most Enkeis).

Heeter, your attention-seeking cry-baby antics are lame. Fuck off. You're nothing but an infested vaginal discharge bringing down the collective intelligence of the board.

              Just for Ray:

                1) time attack is competition, most people here associate track with DEs, which i mentioned in my previous post... there's no rational reason to be tracking with expensive wide wheels unless it is a race/competition, and then most likely you have 12+ of the identical wheel anyway, so replacement is not an issue

                2) expensive or not, those wheels are being produced and i assume quite readily available, unlike most RS's which all seem to be bought used from someone else. (they aren't on the bbs.com website, so maybe they arent offered new anymore? seems so http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelbrands/23)

any NLA wheel, no matter how cheap, loses a lot of desire to be a track wheel because of availability. at least to me and logical people.

if dumb that people read that RSs are light, and then assume "Omg, those would make for a good track wheel..." noooo. not in my or other's books.

even as many people want them and rock them, keep them as street/show rims. Mtriple did

Dan, are you seriously saying don't correct the person who suggests tracking on NLA wheels? geez, that is just plain silly. only e30tech would that be allowed!

rock out what you want, but i'm not a fan. stretched tires look downright stupid

Time Attack cars are not just the all-out machines like C-West's S2k and HKS's Carbon Evo, there are street class road cars like the Mine's R34 which see regular street duty. Kids in Japan are building cars to the same kinda specs as these cars and driving them, much like weekend warrior rides like your own or Dave's "E30 Rat". They don't have 12+ replacement rims ready to go, most of the guys only drive to the track in their car, with a basic tool kit for support. It ain't as glorified as you think in the street class scene.

Sure, BBS no longer make the RS, but as Shakey said you can get them repaired (and upsized) easily. Many of the best-quality lightweight rims are expensive and "bling" as you say. Look at Volk GT-Cs or the Nismo 5-spoke rims, perfect examples of that. But you've gotta ask yourself: form or function? If its function you want, you're best to go for the lightest wheel possible that'll still allow adequate brake cooling.

What it comes down to is that this guy has a set of kick-arse, rare rims that are fucking light and were designed for a motor sport application (Group A touring cars), but have been surpassed with the march of time. I can't believe that you get your frilly panties knotted up your arse just because some people think it'd be cool to use them how they were intended, rather than just parading around on them like a fucking rice-fag poseur.

club racers tend to have many spares. or even just serious trackers (Whitney). even if they don't, those weekend time attackers still are running wheels that are still in production!!!!!

function for DEs is anything. as long as it works, it is good. 14x6.5, 14x6 (like Dave), whatever. no reason to go extreme if you are not going to win anything or have a lacking....

the second a rim becomes NLA would be the second before I found a new set of wheels. when k1s were announced to be discontinued, i immediately starting thinking about replacement for the set

i can't believe you are so block-headed to not understand

Mk - I love the wheels, like the black on black color combo, not a fan of the stretched tire, though. Nice car.

Oh, I understand, but I don't think you do. This is all subjective from your excessively naive point of view. You seem to not be able to understand that its his choice to run those rims, and no amount of pissing and moaning about logic will change that.

Fuck, if you want to get logical why the hell are you driving an E30? Shouldn't you be saving your money and saving for investments? Or at least modifying a car that has a hope in hell of being fast rather than an out-dated German econo-box wannabe sports car (yes, the E30 is a German Civic)?

Your basic knowledge of motorsport seems to not take into account what BBS RSs are all about: heritage.

he can run those rims, it's a free country, but what fucktard recommends NLA wheels, especially expensive ones for DEs?? only a horrible forum lets dumb crap like that stay unchallenged.

e30s are some of the best DE cars. very logical if driver experience and seat time are your goals. and they can be very fast too (Siccardi). what's wrong with civics either?

heritage or not, they aren't being made anymore, so running where they have a strong potential to eventually be ruined doesn't make sense and was a shitty suggestion.
