I drove through an entire NY winter with Polly on those, I got stuck a few times but I am a lot lower and very light rear. I think it would be wise to get some snows...just saying.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

Hahah thanks.
Homebrew shift knob DIY
1. Aquire wood - this is juniper / cedar. The heartwood is awesome.

2. Cut said wood to desired knob length.

3. Rough shape - I used some chisels and a dremel.

4. Drill pilot hole in base and enter wood screw.
5. Chuck into drill.
6. Spin with progressive sand paper.

7. Open hole with 1/2 inch drill bit. The shift arm is a hair larger in diameter so walk the bit around to open it up a tad.
8. Enjoy your wood.

You could probably sell those for a pretty penny. Especially if you find a way to put some lead weights in there. Gorgeous knob.Comment

Thanks guys. I went and found some more quality pieces of cedar and I've been toying with some ideas to get some weight in it along with a quality fastening method rather than just a good friction fit. If people are interested I have enough wood to make probably three more (hopefully weighted) knobs.
Well see, its definitely got a better feel than a standard unweighted knob, with weight it would be butter.Comment
