Originally posted by golde30thats not what i meant, it was more of a general question..more for myself actually, i wanna run a roll bar on the street with the option to run harnesses for track days etc... therefore buying a bar like this with no cross bar already install on the main hoop, and then putting in my own cross bar on the rear support bars so that it is further away from me in the event of a bad accident on the street.

I like it, it's exactly what I've been looking for. Where can you find them on the east coast?'89 325is S50 Track Montser

People here are so eager to say, "why do you need it?" But really - what's it to you? There's nothing "I'm just asking" about it - it only makes you look like a misinformed asshole.87 325IS - Delphin Grey/Cardinal

It looks really silly for a car that has never seen a track in its life to run around on the streets with a rollbar. Makes about as much sense as people that buy 2k worth of adjustable suspension components so they can raise and lower their cars for their parking lot photoshoots.
It screams "poseur" and "riceboy" a lot louder than a big aluminum wing or some type R decals. It's as bad as the guys that show up for an HPDE1 with 4 rolls of wanker tape on the front of their cars.
There's no way I'd put up with the hassle of a bar in a daily driven street car. At least one that initially had more than two seats.
