Is the hood actually composite and removable? Hood pins on a factory hood are a bit ghetto, but hood pins on certain lightweight hoods are a necessity.
the hood is removable but not composite....its alot easier to work on the car. Im not saying i think they look 'cool' but its definately a convienence.

Cograts on the new car .
Looks prety decent overall and that is also one of my favorute colors ....looks quite menacing with the black wheels too .
Just needs to have the bumpers tidied up and the ride height sorted out (f & r) .
Should be quite a fun project for you .

Oh and those hoodpins look just like the regular non-locking pins from the pics .
And its also quite obvious that the hood is just removeable now and does not utilize the tilt function any longer .
More than likely it is just the OE hood though and nothing exotic .

How often do you take the hood off? Is it really that hard to remove the 6 bolts that hold the hood to the hinges?

No , but the washer nozzle hose sure is killer . :D

To be fair I'm sure we can all agree that owning/building a homebrew turbo engine is going to lead to more time under the hood than your average enthusiast would like to see .
So I'm sure that in this application the "take-off" hood is more practical and convenient .

The kid bought the car with the pins, not installed them. Cut him a break.

And trust me, when you turbo a car the hood is up plenty. :)

Amen! Christ - he just got a new car and is excited to show it off.

I saw a bone stock e28 yesterday that had hood pins installed, should I have gotten out of my car and gone back to his and bitch slapped him for this supposed crime?

I'm not really into the pins either, but if the driver likes it, what is it to everyone else?

No, one of those spots IS bird shit....

I like you car though. Nice and dark, I would try and dark out the rest of the chrome on the car, but that's just me. That turbo is a nice surprise. real sleeper. Good luck with your new turbo experiences.

Nice car dude. Gonna keep this one for awhile?
The haters are just jealous of the turbo and picking on hoodpins makes their e dick bigger.

So you have a turbo. Cool?

What management is it running? Tuned correctly?

I'm kinda with TJ and Chris - your last car was REALLY clean. Why not put the effort into a tranny swap and a turbo in your other car? At least that way you'd have a frickin gorgeous exterior!

I just think that car looks really mocked up. I'd also be really hesitant to buy a car with that many modifications done to it already. It's nice knowing exactly what I've done to my car, but I'd be nervous as hell if someone else did all the work.

                            You need to dyno it!

thanks, im keeping this for awhile:) I was gonna do the swap with my red car but i have to go to school early in Aug. so i just wanted to not have to worry about it. Most people on these forums like to pick apart your car. I just got it and they were already bitching about hoodpins I didnt even put on the car. I havent dynoed the car yet but i plan to eventually.
