Love how much tire is on that! ^^^

                This is my life.

ALso have these prepped. Ready for valve stems and tires. They'll go on after paint. Has anyone priced tii center caps lately? Even with a steep discount, I'm into the caps for $240. What the shit, man.

Today marks the first day of exterior tear down...getting ready for paint.

Number 1: remove the entire sound system, starting with what is in the trunk.

If you recall, this is what I started with:

And after 20 minutes of removing wires, amps, woofer, and particle board, I was left with this:

It's sad seeing a hole in the rear firewall, but I have a solution to fix it correctly. I have to weld in an entirely new firewall. No biggie.

And here is what came out so far:

I'm about 2/3 done with removing the sound system.

Car goes in to paint on Monday or Tuesday. Just in time for me to leave for Monterey.

Oh, I mounted the wheels weeks ago. I like them.

Wheels look good. And fuck people cutting holes in firewalls in the trunk...gotta fix the same thing on my m3.

Don't act like this doesn't exist.

                      Because it does.

I'm sad and glad that I'm not the only one who has to undergo this type of pointless, time-consuming correction. It's a monumental waste of time.

Bumpers are tucked as of this morning.

                          Before:

                          After:

Also went ahead and replaced the front rubber bumper guards. They are specific to 1973 models, and mine were not in good shape. All fixed now.

I wanted to get the bumpers tucked before she goes off for paint. No drilling holes after paint.

Oh, that's so much better. That's a subtle but important change.

Agreed. I have been putting the tuck off for a long time. I should have done it day 1, lol.

I have way too many parts now. I am going to do a mass exodus sell off pretty soon here.
