I heard JOM coilovers were good and people really like Sportsmaxx wheels?

    Let the modifications begin.

    So excited.
Just a recommendation, when you are buying control arms, buy the "karlyn" brand, they're the best ;)

OP I'm sure you're aware but DS is "a special BMW paint" imo and that's my quote.

It really is unique when it gets the opportunity to shine, or not because whatever light lent to it it's unique.

All that to say this, my car looked like this the day I bought it

I've had it wetsanded once and polished thrice (heh) in the last four years. Once all the mechanics are sorted, I highly recommend it if the paint/clearcoat is in decent condition.

noted! I like ds too, but my all-time is sterling silver.

This car will be nice, I'll make sure of it.

I even bought these today. Details.

Same. I love them so much. Never cared for m20 cars.

I'll probably never do the m20 flywheel conversion. This one is too stock to start messing with.

lightweight flywheel is a really good upgrade IMO. Makes the m42 much more lively. You can also swap out the old coil packs for coil-on-plugs and ditch the mechanical fan for an electric one. Each mod only nets a couple of hp, but combined they make a noticeable difference. Also, 4.44 gears 8)

I just deleted the fan clutch/ shroud on mine, and went with a Spal 16" pusher fan (2000cfm), and e36 fan switch 80/88. Works lovely.

I'd recommend you take the upper intake manifold off again and replace the short rubber fuel lines. I almost burnt my 318 down because those started to leak...

Decided to replace my odo gears today. It wasn't hard, but I didn't like taking the steering wheel off and ripping half of the dash apart just to get to that stupid cluster.

But the good news is that I actually did it correctly and the odometer works again. So that's pretty cool.

I also received a free, but well worn Alpina shift knob for the e28/e30 platform. So on it went. I love these knobs. They make my hands feel huge ifyouknowwhatimean.

Then I got the front end together. I had a local paint shop whip me up some diamondschwarz paid code 181 and I took the time to spray the is lip (ebay lip - don't ever buy these willingly. They suck) and the valence. Things turned out ok. Huge improvement. I'm still waiting on new fog lights, and I won't paint the trim and grilles until I source either a nice, used center rear bumper section, or buy one new. Then everything will be refinished. but for now, it's tolerable.

I think I'll drive to Sacramento tomorrow. First road trip in this e30. I'll either make it or I won't, so that will be fun.
