This thread posed no problems IMO because there was no link to an ebay auction, it mentioned practivally nothing about an ebay auction, and what just pics of a hot E30 with a hotter engine. I didn't see any issues with it. Cool?

I think he's just trying to state that it was from an ebay auction, which in itself is against forum rules.

Below is a set of “rules” that will make message boards more enjoyable. Feel free to link to this message if needed.

          1. If you are not the seller of the auction do not post any links to an active auction. Randomly posting a link to an auction that you have no connection to could be considered, “begging for friends”. If anyone on the board had already searched and spent their own time trying to find this item all you did was “let the cat out of the bag”. You will have then alienated that person and be one “begging for friends” in the negative.

          2. If you think someone may be interested in an item that you have found. Use PM or AIM or E-mail. Do not openly post the item for all to see as this would be “letting the cat out of the bag” once again. A private conversation would surely win over the recipient of the information.

          3. If you are the seller of the auction and the board rules allow feel free to post advertisements.

          4. Do not post information about buyers without their consent. Unless you are the seller and there is a documented complaints or complements. (i.e. request or return of auction fees, feedback left etc.) If there is no documentation you are just "whining and crying".

          5. Do not post information about sellers without their consent. Unless you are the buyer and there is documented complaints or complements. (i.e. request for paypal credit, shipping damage due to determination of shipper, etc.) If there is no documentation you are just "whining and crying".

Those rules are for whiney r3vy bitches

nobodie give a shit if someone posts it or not, unless you're a whiney r3vy bitch

This was the only thing that mentioned ebay:

it's being sold on ebay right now, no affiliation

I always interpreted the rule as it being a link to the auction as a no-no.

I can't beleive people are whining about it!

Same here, but at the same time, then you've got people starting threads like "Look at this thing on ebay!", and they get away with it by not posting the link.

I think the guideline here is that threads of this nature need to just be left to the discretion of the admin/mod staff. I see no issue with this one.

Back to discussion of this beastly e30!

I understand the coolness aspect of this swap, but why not just drop a s50b32 in there? A bit more common swap, a bit more reliable, still has itbs, i guess it wont be as torquey, but you cant dismiss the power vlad's making. I wanted a e28m5 so bad before i got my e30, but the thought of a rebuild almost made me throw up.

Funds I have, I'm just taking a break as I am almost done with my frame up restoration.

While the euro S50 is a great motor, its not the correct era for the car I am building. I don't want vano's, or any cool technologies as they do not fit in with the theme of the car I've built.

I'm the type of guy who would rather do an M30 swap over an M50, and an S38 or an M50B30/32 (American S50/S52) or a S50B32. Its different and very few people do it.

Regular M50 and S50/S52 swaps really don't interest me, as they are mainly done to get cheap reliable horsepower, and nothing about my car has been cheap, I easily have over 30 grand into the thing.

To each his own, but the S38 is one hell of a voodoo motor, and I love every part of it.

Oh i agree. I will be proud to say that one of the owners of the forum i live on has the cleanest e30s38 in the states, which it no doubt will be. Im sure initially the motor will be swapped in stock but do have any plans for it in the future? Ive heard of some stroked to 350+hp. Man would that be fun in an e30.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Depends on if I get the 3.6 or 3.8.

I'd like to toss some dinan cams and software on the thing, but thats about it. Its already a very high strung motor.

I currently have one the cleanest Mtech1 325is's in the country, so once I toss the S38 in there it should turn a few heads.
