Today I went ahead and removed my rear discs to resurface them.
I did manage to find new used rear rotors, in Germany, that still measure 19mm and have a minimal burr. But I haven't received these as of now and I'm also waiting for a new delivery of some parts.
Also since the previous owner changed the brake pads and hand brake shoes with their springs not long ago (still have plenty of meat), I decided to only resurface the rotor for now.

I'll mount the new rotors when the old ones are completely worn (17,4mm thickness)

There was quite a burr on the edge of the rotor

Brake caliper removed and sent in the rotor to get resurfaced by my local auto shop, cleaned off most of the rust with a steel bristle brush.

Little shot of the car sitting on the drive way when we were waiting for our resurfaced discs.

Got the rotors back, decided to wire wheel the top and side and repaint the sides with heat resistant paint.

Rotor fitted with some new copper grease on the backside.

Caliper back in place, new copper grease on the back side of the brake shoes and the guide pins for the caliper.

Got some more small stuff for the Touring. New hose clamp for the cooling hose at the front of the engine and a new emblem for the shifter.

Finally got some more interior pictures :)

When I went outside to snap soms pictures, I noticed little icicles on the front of the hood and grills

Front driver seat, no rips or tears

          Drivers side door card

Same on the passenger side, little imperfection on the doorcard but nothing bad.

Rear seats, It's like they were never used

Noticed I already put 2455km on it, not bad.

Thank you! It still looks great, only thing that is starting to wear is the shift knob. I am thinking of maybe replacing it together with the shift boot.
Not a big fan of the M stichting on it.

This week I received the used, but still in very good shape ventilated rear discs, calipers, rear axles and trailing arms from Germany.

There is absolutly no burr on the edge of the discs :D

Dust plates on the rear trailing arms got a bit beaten up by transport but they were shot anyways.

Calipers seem to be in good nick too, although rusted. I think I will blast, replate and rebuild these and swap them over to my car.

                  Still 19mm thick, yay!

Today I finally got around to changing the differential, T case an transimission fluids, well.. kinda.

I first got the car on jack stands. First time wrenching in our new workshop, no more cobblestones! I should probably give the iX a bath too..

Got started with the rear differential, making sure to first undo the fill plug and then the drain plug.

I then replace the fluid of the front differential since they both use the same fluid.
Fluid level wasn't near the fill plug, also the oil itself looks quite nasty.. was definitely time to replace it

After the diff I decided to replace the transmission fluid until I stubbled on the fill plug, it was totally f*cked. Great job previous OP! ...

I then got started with removing the front drive shaft that goes from the T case to the front differential.
Splines looked still ok, although the grease was pretty dry. Gave the splines both on the shaft and the shaft of the T case a nice thick coating and put everything back in place.

Finally I loosened the fill and drain bolt/plug of the transfer case.
When I wanted to tighten the drain bolt, it kept on spinning.. Threads are completely stipped out. Great.

Tomorrow I'll try and get the transmission plug of with some vice grips, didn't want to bother with it since it was getting late. Already got a new fill plug from my local auto store.
I'll also seal the drain bolt of the T case with some gasket maker.

I love your wagon. I really want an e30 touring at some point. Or maybe I'll wait a few more years and attempt to import an Audi RS2. Those are probably already out of my budget though.

Good luck with the vice grips and that drain plug!

Thank you, I love it too haha ;)

I still prefer a E30 Touring over the Audi RS2 though. But then again, I'm probably biased.

Thanks, I hope I can get it out! Will update

The rear diff fluid looks so fucking gross. Worse than the front diff in my opinion. Good on ya replacing it all. The IX has so many different reservoirs of fluid.

The fluid had a weird tint because there were lost of small air bubbles in it.
When it sat for a while in the catch pan, it looked fine colorwise.

And yes, a lot of fluids!
