My only gripe is that you shaved the rear roundel. :(
The roundel is coming back in the form of being etched into the paint. This way I don't have to worry about people stealing them anymore during UT home games.
Rivets, however... ugh. I've never been to OR so I don't know how bad the winter weather is or if they salt the roads, but that sounds like a great way to get some really kickass hidden rust, IMO.
Yeah I'm with this guy. If it were me I would find a way to seal this shit up. A good bondo job and some primer should be good to make this job really clean. And Josh if you need a hand any time let me know. I wouldn't mind seeing the process. If it seems resonable I might consider it for my eS.
If you use self etching primer and fiberglass resin where needed you can avoid rust issues easily. Just as long as you do not use aluminum rivets since they tend to oxidize when in contact with bare metal over time.
Seriously. I owned 2 88's (an ix and an is) and now that I finnally have a pb car it really just looks ten times better. Honestly makes every single person I know think the car is 5 years newer than it is, and makes the car just look more clean in general. 20 year old chrome bumps NEVER look good.

People never believe me when I tell them that my car is an '86, they always think it's like a '90/91. I can't wait to get these bumpers and valences on, it's going to make it look even better. When I'm finished, I'll have essentially my dream E30 (body-wise), late model bumpers and valences with early tails and rear fender arches.
Damn, I can't believe this thread is at 5 pages. :D
Soon people, soon. I don't want to get started until I have everything, so I can hit it all at once. Andrew and I are going to go at this all at one time, and work until we get it done.

Josh, hope this goes well for you, i will actually be starting on mine here in the next few weeks. I will be welding mine on, and possibly building a diffuser into it as well. As Bill mentioned, it will look like crap with the two valances showing, I will be fabbing up plates and welding them together as to not have this gap.

I finally got back into the E30 building game.
Thanks, Trent. I totally agree with what you and Bill are saying about the 2 valences showing, we'll fab up something to hide that once we get a little further into the project.
