Cowl induction was only induction because of a valve actuated flap in the rear facing scoop. Only actuated at 80% throttle. The rest of the time it was closed. Exclusive to Chevrolet.

So for all other makes of cars and aftermarket hoods that had some sort of venting near the cowl was for the purpose of venting heat.

I'm not sure where you guys got this whole cowl induction thing from my previous posts?

Exactly, because "many high hp muscle cars" (must be a typo) had rearward facing scoops.

Lets just face it that your entire thought process was "read" incorrectly.

I am done. You lost and lost big.

            great thread, I lolz'd

quick short on what the vent is supposed to do:

stagnant (low speed), high pressure (high temp too) air in the engine bay.

top of hood ..... high speed, low pressure air

now enter ..... THE VENT!!! High pressure now can flow to low pressure above the hood. Lower pressure now behind the radiator, sucking in oncoming air. I'm actually curious how well it cools your temps during summer track events.

Now the henna needs some vortex generators, a flat bottom, an undertray, and some diffuser tunnels out back ... then it's an orange brick, w/ vents 'n shit
