Have you tried moving the panel as far forward as possible when screwing it in? There are quite a few millimeters of adjustment forward and back when screwing the bolts into the sunroof mounting tabs. I'm quite stumped here as I've seen this panel mount totally snug with a new seal.
Its a two piece in good shape but not brand new.

I can move it forward but if I do, the gap is in the rear instead.

How big of a deal was it to do the headliner? I hate my grey one, but I've always been against doing it because you have to remove the windows.

Looking good and cant wait to see it in person. As far as the inside goes, I got to redo mine as well so maybe we can get a build day and bang them out. Black looks so nice inside!

I did it in the car, masked the shit out of it all and pulled the seals down along with leaving a little bleed room in the masking. It looks great.

Vedub, I should have my car back together by the weekend I hope!

                    nice job on the installs!

...the sunroof gasket is meant to slow the water coming in, not prevent it...there are drains for that, which you might need to be unclogged...

the jack in my iX is screwed so I got a 14" floor jack from Advance which sits next to my sub in the trunk...
I have about 1/5 less trunk space than stock because of putting in 2x4's, the sub, the amp and the jack which all fit next to each other so the carpet comes up to the corner between the bottom of the hat tray and the back of the seat...meh

                          Batwing!

MOTOREN: I realize its just a wind seal, but there is a gap and water can freely gush into the car. My seats had soapy water on them after I washed my car today.

Not a fan of the black roof but the hood and trunk would be totally hot.
