DONT DO IT MAN!!!
I owned a few aircooled VWs and they are nothing but trouble.. I hardly ever drove mine, but soemthing broke every time i did. As much as i loved them, i vowed never to get one again.90is, longtube headers/straight pipe/mark d 18# 93 0ctane chip/18# injectors/vogtland springs/bilst. sports

I had a 1600cc in my Westy with only 85k original miles, it throwing a rod was the straw that broke the camels back. I meticulously maintained the damn thing and the frustration of not being able to drive it for more than one day without something going out just turned my love to hate for aircooled VWs..I hope your luckier than I was.....good thing is, they are VERY easy to work on.90is, longtube headers/straight pipe/mark d 18# 93 0ctane chip/18# injectors/vogtland springs/bilst. sports

Im definately keeping the body how it is now. Gonna throw a roof rack on it and do some interior work. Not 100% sure whats all gonna happen to it but im gonna have it for awhile.
