I wish I was able to make it this past weekend to check out the swap but work called. I really want to go for a spin in that thing and see how much bang for the buck the M50 swap is! Do you guys ever meet up with the EastCoastEuro crew in Rockville on friday nights? Time for the E30's to start making more appearances down there. It's always full of E46's and some E36s. The only E30 I've seen show up was M42Technic (sp?).

But yeah, I definitely want to see/feel what this M50 swap feels like. I may definitely try to get this done to my whip... it looks so much cleaner and filling in the engine bay.

Having some problems with it tonight. Running very rough and very rich, only code is for TPS. Swapped sensors and code still appears, checked resistance and voltage signals, everything is in working correctly. Has been getting a little better the more I run it, but still pretty bad. Vanos line is leaking now, so I have to figure that one out.

I guess if it doesnt clear up I'll be pulling the +4s out, and put the o2 sensor in.

Really? I was there like all summer. I've only seen like 2 other e30s there, one m3 5 lugged s50 e30 and another in primer. Since I'm back in the area for good now, I'll be at most of them here on out. I'm in either a hella'd 4dr or lowered black ES.

Update:

Swapped plugs, put an exhaust on, hooked up the o2 sensor, fixed vanos leak, and all other fluid issues, start-up still runs like poop. Started checking things and found the MAF was in backwards. Flipped it and it ran perfectly. A little noise from the belt, tensioner, and flywheel, but this motor is soo smooth.

Exhaust is in need of work, my temporary pipes are leaking pretty badly, so I'll take care of that. It seems to be running pretty hot, but it doesnt overheat. The gage is sitting around 3/4 but doesnt go much higher. I'm pretty sure the system is completely bled, and I found some kinks in some hoses. One hose looks like it's pinched by the intake manifold, so I'll have to look into that. I've got a new thermostat, water pump, fan w/clutch and m42 radiator.

I just finished the wiring today, everything works down to the speed input. Power wise, its pretty nice, but I definitely need some power adders. I miss eta torque. Cruising at 95 mph today was relaxing, motor wasnt even stressing. I'll get some shots up tomorrow probably.

well, ive only starting attending their meets. i wish i had some mods done so that i would fit in a little better. a white coupe at stock ride height with mud splashed on the side from spinning tire in my front yard isn't exactly a clean e30.

I was there last Friday, no E30's but myself. Dado made an appearance with his E36 monster. That thing is busted up, front to back, definitely not a show car but molested daily...some kid was freaking out that he was there, I could care less...the rest of the cars there are just richass people for sure...guy telling me about his $1,600 steering wheel for his E46 sedan...

Dado is a douche bag. He showed up at the SFL drift even last weekend with his semi truck and trailer and spun out at least twice in every run. The car is haggard too, though I'd take the engine.

I skipped that friday's meet to go to the toys for tots one the next day; Dado showed up for that one too. That e36 is beat, but it sounds awesome.

I'll post a gtg thread for the friday night meets. More e30s would be awesome.
